Illingsworth: a subtle taste of Detroit hip hop, lounge and experimental sounds

Based on a rhythmic instrumental background made of swinging drum beats, This Is For Yall sends out some sharp minded and inventive lyrics from the mouth of a lyrical surgeon. You will probably love the subtle way he operates on a soft and sensual saxophone background , totally killing it with his raw words and his confident flow delivery. Don ‘t sleep on this track: it is decidated to you all and beautifully handled from the beginning to the end.
Write On is equally rhythmic and built on repetitive sounds while the emcee on the mic totally promotes free expression. If you like subtle vowel plays, you will probably get hooked with the track mentioned above.
A very dark bass musical background totally describe the anguish of emcees struggling for an every day hustle. The dynamic duo will teach you about combining musical skills and the right pimping attitude that will make you succeed in the rap game.
Hey has a soft soul resonance. The song is nevertheless fulfilled with a strong conquerror spirit. You can’t stay indifferent in front of the well handled gangsta track.
The mixture of rough and soft element, the good use of instrumentals in order to describe the proper atmosphere, the original and creative use of the lyrics make Illingsworth very worth your full attention.

Kenan Waters, a young emcee who hails from Leicester, UK…

At the very young age of 14, Kenan Waters already possesses some good artistic skills that will probably allow him to be considered as outstanding in the future.
High Weather uses a contrast between light and dark, soft and raw. The soft chorus is based on a Barbara Streisand sample. But don’t let the soft notes fool you from the whole dimension of the song: here comes an offensive emcee with a powerful voice, a strong flow delivery and determination to make it in the rap game.
Every Day starts with some disaccorded piano notes combined with keyboard sounds. Again, the listener will feel the powerful rhymers will to conquer his audience. He raps about the every day knife violence that is so typical to the UK’s daily life. The knife related culture spoils so many people s life. Kenan Waters tells it the way it is. The lack of love is killing society.
This track is definitely worth your attention.
New Kid is a very rhythmic track that fully underlines the artist s good rapping skills. Yes, he s only 15. But Kenan Waters knows how to do it!

DJ Butter keeps your musical world bouncing

DJ Butter, one of Detroit’s most notorious DJ s has some brand new tracks to please his listeners ears.
Although I am not really a R’n’B fan, I’d recommend the auditor a touch of a nice Wesley Valentine Bed Remix Wesley, a powerful track that is so much fulfilled with tenderness. Both Detroit artists, DJ Butter and emcee Wesley Valentine manage to combine their talents in order to make you feel the emotional side of a man s loving soul. While the instrumental background has some powerful, rhythmic beats that are astutely combined with some beautiful violin sounds to offer, the whole song will make the passion blossom like a florishing Summer time.
NiteDay is taken out of DJ Butter s Get Your Money Right CD. Again, some beautiful, swinging beats will enhance the track. Feel a man s struggle to get millions. It don t matter how you get it, as long as you get it is a sentence that comes from a true hustla’s mouth.
Do The Dam Thang features Dipse T and ByrdganG. The song carries a true gangsta spirit. The artists impressive flow delivery needs to be underline. The raw instrumentals in the background are here to reinforce the harsh hood atmosphere.
New will offer the listener some insight about DJ Butter s brand new album. It features brilliant old school Detroit rapper Big Herk.
Globally speaking, DJ Butter knows how to honor his city and local underground scene. He is one of the currently most hard working men on the Detroit hip hop scene.
Don’t sleep on him! Check him out here.

Eminem ready to launch a new CD? (DetNews Com article)

Adam Graham / Detroit News Pop Music Writer
Get ready for the return of the king — or not.
A mysterious new Web site, kingmathers.com, appears to be a teaser for Detroit-bred hip-hop superstar Eminem’s new album, titled “King Mathers.”
“Guess who’s coming back?” the site reads, above a picture of Em fixing the brim of his cap. Below his picture is the title, followed by a message that reads, “The first new studio album in more than 2 years. Coming soon.”
And then, poof — after four seconds the screen goes blank, and re-routes visitors to a hip-hop message board.
Is the site legit? Not according to Eminem’s Interscope Records publicist, Dennis Dennehy, who said Tuesday “It’s not true” and called kingmathers.com “bogus.”
Regarding new material, Dennehy said, “there is no Eminem album on any release schedule.”
Still, for months Em has been rumored to be working on new material and eyeing a 2007 release date. Though the project has been hush-hush, 50 Cent and Eminem’s Shady Records signee, Ca$his, have both mentioned the project in interviews. Rumored collaborators include Dr. Dre, T.I. and Akon.
Even though Em has kept a decidedly low profile since the release of 2004’s “Encore,” new Eminem product has continued to hit store shelves. “Curtain Call — The Hits” was released in December 2005, and the compilation set “Eminem Presents: The Re-Up” hit stores late last year.

Jewlybonz, representing Richmond, Virginia

Jewlybonz comes up with an original style that is enhanced with some Southern accents.
In A Hustlaz Dream, enriched with some soft female vocals and a light reggae instrumental background, Jewlybonz is taking over, crowing himself as number One, lyrically stabbing with his sharp and offensive words. Jellybonz knows how to captivate his listeners and to heat up the atmosphere. A nice flow delivery also belongs to his main assets.
What You Like Ma is built on a dark instrumental background that is softened by some violin sounds. Again, Jewlybonz words pour out like torrential rain, powerfully overflooding his listeners ears. Feel the atmopshere of the hood and the overheated atmopshere of the club song. No doubt you will like it from the outlaw who makes his own rules.
Caesar starts with a powerful orchestral violin background that is followed by keyboard sounds. The song introduces you into a world in which power definitely matters. The song, that is originally dedicated to Caesar, the leader of the leaders, introduces you into the powerful mind of a man who rides for the hood.
Jewlybonz presents himself as an OG with some obvious rapping skills. You will like him-if you like Dirty South influences.
