Fight Music

Ask Eminem if he does black music and he will answer you without any hesitation:
‘I don’t do black music, I don’t do white music
I make fight music, for high school kids…’

Eminem makes people realize better that color is no longer an issue and that hip hop music is universal. Eminem makes fight music for high school kids.
Eminem’s music helps young people to canalize their anger and frustrations through his music, he also makes them realize that they are understood in a world where adults are priviliged.
The whole D12 album shocked a lot of adults. Why?
First, because its goal is to shock people who live in a closed and comfortable world.
Second because it refers to drugs, sex (there are many references to anal sex too) and violence.
How many times has Eminem been reproached to advocate violence? How many times has Eminem been targetted by parents and teachers who accuse him to corrupt the youth? This has happened and will probably happen again as long as people will be too closed minded to look at Eminem’s songs deeper.
A lot of people are also trying to analyze him, but- as intellectual as they may be- they make the big mistake to take each of his words literally. Of course, if you take him literally, Eminem appears to be the biggest fool on earth.
Psychologists and teachers are worried about Eminem’s impact on ‘ fragile impressionable teenagers’. Why don’t they try to look at it from the kids’ side?
Many educators do as if every child lived in a perfect family composed of healthy and wealthy parents. But that’s so far from reality: many kids come from disfunctional families and have to face some serious issues. Many of them are alldaily confronted to violence, alcolhol and drugs. Not every family is alcohol and drug free. Eminem’s music helps those kids where educators and psychiatrists failed at their task. Eminem’s music is a liberating force for a kid who gets constantly humiliated at home. Why care about the cusswords and strong language in Eminem’s lyrics? Kids from poor social classes and broken homes are used to them anyway.
Eminem also understood that many parents failed in their mission to educate their kids the right way. That’s what he expresses in ‘Fight Music’:
‘ I came to save these new generations of babies
from parents who failed to raise ’em cause they’re lazy
to grow to praise me I’m makin ’em go crazy
That’s how I got this whole nation to embrace me
And you fugazi if you think I’ma admit wrong
I cripple any hypocritic critic I’m sic’d on
And this song is for any kid who gets picked on
A sick song to retaliate to, and it’s called.. ‘

Some parents are to lazy to take time for their kids. Education doesn’t only mean giving kids some material comfort. Education means taking time to discuss with your kids and trying to figure out what their aspirations and fears are. Education means spending enough time to be able to listen to your kids. Many suicides could be avoided among teenagers if parents took time for their kids’ problems and well being.
Also when you constantly get picked on at school, you have the right to be angry.
A teenager who is going through difficult conditions has a lot of anger to express. Eminem’s music helps many kids to conceal their anger. Teenagers love his music, because they know Marshall has experienced similar things than they do and he perfectly knows how it is to get bullied at school.
‘ Fight Music ‘ allows them to express some rage and some (verbal) violence and to let it out. I am deeply convinced that parents who understand their children will let them listen to ‘ Fight Music ‘. The so called ‘ negative lyrics ‘ can be canalized in a positive way.
Of course, there will always be exceptions, like this young man who violently murdered a 47 years old man appearently after listening to ‘ Fight Music ‘ :
http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_743289.html?menu=news.latestheadlines
It is not even a proven fact that Eminem’s music lead to this cruel act. A majority of adolescents who listen to Eminem’s music have a pretty normal behavior. That was also David Robson’s (a psychiatrist) opinion.
In Fight Music, Eminem also expresses how much he is sick of hypocritical negative critics.
Bizarre’s part in the song is nasty and politically incorrect. The video gives a funny taste to his words which are provocative and also anti religious on purpose :
“You know why my hands are so numb? (No)
Cause my grandmother sucked my dick and I didn’t come (oh)
Smacked this whore for talkin crap (bitch)
So what if she’s handicapped, the bitch said Bizarre couldn’t rap
I fuckin hate you; I’ll take your drawers down and rape you
While Dr. Dre videotapes you (hell yeah!)
Satan done got me on this song
Eatin a hot dog readin the Holy Qu’ran, while I’m on the john
Tired of wearin this yellow thong
Take it back Sisqo, you know where it belongs (thong th-thong thong)
Now here’s a gun, I’ll put it in your palm
Now go over there and blow up Dru Hill’s arms
Fuck your love songs”

You can find so much controversial stuff within the same verse : having sex with his grandmother, references to rape, Bizarre is making fun of a handicapped person which will shock people who defend political correctness and he also dares eating a hot dog while reading the Holy Qu’ran and sitting on the toilet at the same time. What a disgust for an integrist. Sisquo gets dissed too’
Everything is made to shock, but if you’re open minded enough, you’ll start laughing while discovering all those nasty and dirty elements mixed together.
The video of ‘ Fight Music ‘ lets appear each D12 member as a member of a gang in an underground station opposed to other scary gangs who keep pursuing them during the whole video. First, the other gangs are more numerous than the D12, but in the end many people rally the D12 gang in order to fight the other gangs.
President Bush is targetted too in the video. He is attacked by the D12 thugs who manage to get hold of his car after breaking the windows. This is a symbolic protest against Bush’s policy. Eminem driving the stolen car symbolizes that he has some political power to oppose to politicians who keep ‘ acting stupid ‘.
Each D12 member plays his role very well. They look like the principal heroes of a scary story that is amplified by the electric guitar sound during the whole video. The victory belongs to the D12 gangsta crew in the end.
The Fight Music video is a very captivating and well made video in which Eminem and his crew put a lot of work : it is really worth watching.Fight Music
[Chorus: Eminem]
This kind of music, use it, and you get amped to do shit
Whenever you hear some shit and you can’t refuse it
It’s just some shit, for these kids, to trash they rooms with
Just refuse whenever they asked to do shit
The type of shit that you don’t have to ask who produced it
You just know – that’s the new shit
The type of shit that causes mass confusion
and drastic movement of people actin stupid
[Kon Artis]
I come to every club with intention to do harm
With a prosthetic arm and smellin like Boone’s Farm
Hidin under tables as soon as I hear alarms
Paranoid thief that’ll steal from his own moms
Connivin Kon, Artis with a bomb
Strapped to my stomach screamin, “Let’s get it on!”
A lush that love to drink, drunk drivin a tank
Rollin over a bank, cops see me and faint
It’s drastic, I’m past my limit of coke
I think I’ll up my high by slittin your throat
Push your baby carriage into the street, ’til it’s mince meat
Your mens been beat the minute I step onto your street
This is fight music!
[Bizarre]
You know why my hands are so numb? (No)
Cause my grandmother sucked my dick and I didn’t come (oh)
Fuck your love songs
[Chorus]
[Proof]
Just bring who you gon’ bring on, who you gon’ swing on?
I’m King Kong, guns blow you to king-dom come
Show you machine gun funk
Sixteen m-16’s and one pump [click-clack]
The snub in my paw, shove it in your jaw
Have you runnin out this fuckin club in your drawers
We lovin the broads, there’s nothin to applaud
But fuck it it’s all good, the hood is up in The Source
It’s fight music
[Swifty McVay]
I’m a nigga that loves scuffles
And won’t hesitate to sock you again for swollen knuckles
I’m like that, catch a nigga like bear traps
Blow his head back right in front of the priest sayin, “You hear that?”
I slap your freak, bump you and won’t speak
If you step on my feet, you get drowned in your own drink
I suffocated my shrink just for talkin
Came back and fucked up his pallbearers and made ’em drop his coffin
It’s fight music!
[Kuniva]
These beads I’m swingin is stingin ’em
See all these niggaz? When I step in the club, I’m bringin ’em
If any nigga lookin too hard, we Rodney King’n ’em
Malice green to them and gasolinin ’em with premium
Light a cigarette, flick it at ’em or spit it at ’em
Hold up a picture of his family and kick it at him
Blast while you right hookin, right when your wife’s lookin
Fuck fight music, bitch this is losin your life music!
[Eminem]
If I could capture the rage of today’s youth and bottle it
Crush the glass from my bare hands and swallow it
Then spit it back in the faces of you racists
and hypocrites who think the same shit but don’t say shit
You Liberace’s, Versace’s, and you nazis
Watch me, cause you thinkin you got me in this hot seat
You motherfuckers wanna JUDGE me cause you’re NOT me
You’ll never STOP me, I’m TOP speed as you POP me
I came to save these new generations of babies
from parents who failed to raise ’em cause they’re lazy
to grow to praise me I’m makin ’em go crazy
That’s how I got this whole nation to embrace me
And you fugazi if you think I’ma admit wrong
I cripple any hypocritic critic I’m sic’d on
And this song is for any kid who gets picked on
A sick song to retaliate to, and it’s called..
[Chorus]
It’s fight music!

Purple Pills

The ‘Purple Pills’ song from ‘ Devil’s Night ‘ album is all about popping pills and swallowing mushrooms and intentionally made of crazy statements. Different drugs like mescaline, coke, heroin and mushrooms are mentioned in the song.
There are also some clear references to Debbie’s addiction to valium. Eminem humors his own behavior and his difficulty in concealing his inclination towards violence. In the song as well as in the video, ‘ Purple Pills ‘ brings you into a magical dimension. In the censored version , the song is called ‘ Purples Hills ‘ and the text has been transformed for a large part.
Before the video was released the D12 had no other choice than modifying the content of the lyrics and the title because of the many references to drugs. MtV had left them no other alternative.
But the illest lyrics are, of course, the original lyrics of the song.
You are brought into an addictional dimension that is conditioned by a constant drug use and abuse. The listener needs, of course, a solid sense of humor, not to misinterpret nor to take the words of the song seriously.
The lyrics of the song and the video are funny. Kon Artis losing his arm looks surreal with the surrounding cartoon decor. The big variety of landscapes andcolors add to this surrealistic athmosphere. Proof is disguised as a clown killer and he manages to scare a little girl and to make her cry.
The song Purple Pills is viewed by many people as an encouragement for the youth to take drugs. As I stated it on some other topics concerning Eminem and D12’s references to drugs, the songs are just words on a mic.
But ‘you guessed it- the song ‘ Purple Pills ‘ caused some controversy when Leah Betts, Janet Bett’s daughter died from taking ecstasy. Her mother wanted the Purple Hills (this is the title of the clean version that also appeared on TV) to be banned.
This case is similar to Kaleigh Davis’ case, the 13 years girl who used to like Eminem and who committed suicide. In such cases, the pain of the parents is so unbearable that they need a perfect culprit. But still, I insist on the fact that neither Eminem nor any of the other D12 members can be held responsible for kids’ drug addiction.
Parents should be conscious that it remains their role to prevent their kids from taking drugs. Artists are such an easy target when parents keep running from their responsibilities. Like Eminem points it out in ‘ Who Knew ‘ from the Marshall Mathers LP :
“But don’t blame me when lil’ Eric jumps off of the terrace
You shoulda been watchin him – apparently you ain’t parents…”

Janet Betts stated:
‘This man is an icon to teenagers. They will hear this and think it’s cool to take drugs. That is so irresponsible.’
Her statement is a too simplistic view. It has also been demented by a spokesman for the National Drug Helpline who actually thinks listening to Eminem is very unlikely to lead kids to taking drugs:
‘Teenagers are more intelligent than that. There is much more peer pressure among teenagers than from pop stars. Teenagers also understand that alot of the publicity that pop stars carry with them is just hype created by the media.’
I also think that it is unlikely for young people who are not used to drugs and who haven’t been involved with drugs to be influenced badly by songs such as ‘ Purple Pills ‘.
References to sex are numerous too and this might upset some parents too.
‘ Purple Pills ‘ is one of the best tracks of the ‘ Devil’s Night ‘ album along with ‘ Fight Music ‘. The song is musically rich and the harmonica you can hear at the end of the song gives a particular and enthousiastic note to the song. Eminem and his D12 fellows have done a great job.
Purple Pills
[Eminem]
Ugh.. yo yo yo, yo
[Chorus: Eminem]
I take a couple uppers, I down a couple downers
But nothing compares to these blue and yellow purple pills
I’ve been to mushroom mountain, once or twice but who’s countin
But nothin compares to these blue and yellow purple pills
[Eminem]
Yo, yo
Cool, calm, just like my mom
With a couple of valium inside her palm
It’s Mr. Mischief with a trick up his sleeve
To roll up on you like Christopher Reeves
I can’t describe the vibe I get
When I drive by six people and five I hit (oops)
Aww shit, I started a mosh pit
Squashed a bitch and stomped her foster kids (AHH!)
These ‘shrooms make me hallucinate
Then I sweat till I start losin weight
‘Til I see dumb shit start happenin
Dumber than Vanilla Ice tryin to rap again
So bounce, bounce, come on bounce
{*GUNFIRE*} I said come on, bounce
Everybody in the house with a half an ounce (me!)
Not weed, I meant coke, dumb-ass sit down
We don’t bullshit, better ask around
D-12 throws the bomb and smash the town
Bizarre, your mom is passin out
Get her ass on the couch ‘fore she crashes out
Come on!
[Kon Artis and Kuniva]
Fuck that, someone help Denaun
He’s upstairs naked with a weapon drawn
Heh, hey Von you see me steppin on these leprechauns?
It gotta be acid cause the X is gone
Ya I took them all dawg with some parmegan
And I think my arm is gone
Naw it’s probably numb
Young, dumb, and full of cum
And I think he ’bout to swallow his tongue
Scary ass it was a false alarm
You think I’m ’bout to die when I just got on?
Yo stop actin stupid
You so high that you might wake up with a guy on some new shit (EWW!)
Yeah I think I did too much — This substance equals cups
Red pills, blue pills, and green — Big pills (that’s ill), mescaline!
[Chorus]
[Eminem]
Dirty Dozen, eighty of us, Shady brothers, ladies love us
That’s why our baby mothers love us but they hate each other
They probably wanna take each other out and date each other
Some-, somethin, some’un, some’un, some’un {*babbling*}
[Proof]
Pop pills, pills I pop
Pop two pills on stilts I walk
Snort two lines that were filled with chalk
Thought it was +Incredible+ and killed the +Hulk+
I wanna, roll away like a rollerblade
Until my eyes roll back in my skull for days
And when I’m, old and gray look for dope to smoke
No okey-doke, I’m packin my nose with coke
{*cough cough cough*} Am I supposed to choke?
Had an accident when the Trojan broke
Ahh, poor baby, born by whore lady
Now I gotta strangle a.. (You’re crazy!)
[Swifty McVay]
I pop fo’ E’s at one time
And I don’t need water when I’m swallowin mine
(Yeah, you got any shrooms?) Does Bizarre smoke crack?
We can’t get jobs cause our arms show tracks
Why the hell you niggaz think I rap?
We do it just to get your company hijacked
And if you like smack (uh-huh) then I might too
(Swift, chill) I just wanna get high like you! (ewww)
And I don’t give a damn if they white or blue (uh-huh)
Speed, ‘shrooms, down the valiums (uh-huh)
Even smoke weed outta vacuums
I just copped some and I’m goin back soon
[Chorus]
[Bizarre]
I’m at rave lookin like a slave, high off chronic
Gin and tonic demonic, body smell like vomit
Pussy poppin, acid droppin, dope-headed guy
Heroin mescaline, pencilnecks, wanna try?
Blue pills, golden seals, got Bizarre, actin ill
Drugs kill (Yeah right) – Bitch, I’m for real!!!
Shut your mouth you dirty slut, you know you want it in your butt
I’ll put it in your cunt; let Bizarre nut!
[Chorus]
[Eminem]
Dirty Dozen, eighty of us, Shady brothers, ladies love us
That’s why our baby mothers love us but they hate each other
They probably wanna take each other out and date each other
Some-, somethin, some’un, some’un, some’un {*babbling*}
{*harmonica plays until fade*}

Eminem vs Canibus

Among all the persons who were opposed to Eminem, Canibus can be considered more than a rap battle rival than a real enemy. There is much more lyrical rivalry between both men than real bad feelings against each others.
Where did the rivalry between Eminem and Canibus start ?
Canibus appeared on the rap scene in 1997 and he managed to impress people with his lyrics until Eminem was signed by Dr Dre in 1998 and became very successful. Both had to prove their level of skills, so both parts were in competition.
There is a reference to Canibus in the Slim Shady LP in the song ‘ Role Model ‘ :
” I’m cancerous, so when I diss you wouldn’t wanna answer this
If you responded back with a battle rap you wrote for Canibus…’

Some people interpreted those lines as a diss from Eminem towards Canibus. It was interpreted as if Eminem meant that Canibus doesn’t write his own texts.
When Eminem had just released the Slim Shady LP, he was invited at the Tim Westwood show with his fellows from D12 (who were unknown at this time). During the show, Eminem and his fellows were asked to freestyle.
Eminem started:
‘Can U Bus? no You Cant! But i’m Slim Shady and I’m the Man’.
Then Proof went on:
‘I found out where Canibus’ money went! I borrowed a dollar from Wyclef. ”
It is known that Canibus rapped this way live in front of his audience:
‘I’m tired of all these wack Niggaz and wack Wiggaz, with wack lyrics!
Bring that shit to the rap olympics.’

Canibus wrote a track called ‘U Didn’t Care’ that was all about Stan. It was meant that Eminem didn’t care about Stan’s death. In his song, Stan doesn’t die. He has been saved in extremis and talks to Eminem. He appears now as an MC who collaborates with another rapper.
The subject matter of the song is original.
Canibus, who has been renamed by Eminem ‘Canabitch’ also appears in the song ‘Square Dance’ from the Eminem Show:
‘I’ll be brief and let me just keep shit simple, can-a-bitch don’t want no beef
with Slim? Noooo!
Not even on my radar, so won’t you please jump off my dick, lay off and stay off
and follow me as I put these crayons to chaos from s’ance to s’ance,
aw-a-aw-sh-a-aw’

At Eminem’s birthday party, Proof took his friend to his favorite club and made him believe that his rival Canibus was waiting to battle him:
Eminem was ready to shoot his words at him when Proof revealed him that ‘Canibus’ was just a lookalike.
Eminem dissed Canibus lately on his undeground EP ‘Straight Out The Lab’ in a track called ‘Canabitch’.
It has been rumored that both men had battled each other on stage, but both of them have demented it. I was wondering how a Canibus/ Eminem battle on stage would look like.
It might be the ‘battle of the century’, but the victory already belongs to the ‘best battle MC’. No doubt Eminem would win this battle.
Can-A-Bitch:
Intro:
(little girl)
I, I wanna grow up toon
Poppa Marshall, will you tell us a bed time story?
(Eminem)
Heeere we gooo
Now once upon a time not long ago
There was a little rapper about to blow
But his album came and it was not good
I think it went letter double pop a wood
So the silly little fans they were mislead
By a nerdy internet computer hip-hop head
“Me and you clef we’re gonna make some cash
Grab the silver paint and let’s paint my ass”
Hey mister, would ya get a bear wa nista?
The ass-whippin I’m about to add minister
To this ass-kissin little vagnal blista
Stan-abis, little Marshall Mathers sista
Annanis, corner, we have a mister
Not havin it it’s the machinista
Dr. Evil with his bag of tricks for
This little antagonist bag of dick-suckin
Ex LL Cool Jay fan from Windsor
I’m bout to murder little guinea fag Anista
You bastard, I ain’t wanna have to diss ya
Canabis, where the fuck you at I miss ya
Can-a-bitch oh can-a-bitch where for art thou can-a-bitch?
Please tell me what happened with that style that you were rappin with?
Can-a-bitch oh can-a-bitch are you from Los Angeles
New York or just a janitor from Canada? Oh Can-a-bitch
Now at first I ain’t really understand this shit
Picture me for a second and imagine it
Chillin in a bat man chair an relaxin
When all a sudden some bullshit comes across the scanner
It’s ‘Can-a-bitch’ or some Stan lives shit
They creep me out at first man this is sick
But me being just a sick as conflict gets my dick harder than arithmetic
And I know how you jealous ones envy
I shoulda knew better from the first few letters you sent me
The first two letters you were
Tellin me shit like you respect me like any other regular MC
The third letter you ask
How come I ain’t return none of the messages at Shady Records you left me?
The fourth Letter “Slim you really startin to upset me”
The fifth letter told me you were comin to get me
The sixth letter there’s a bomb threat in our building
This crazy mother fucker’s really tryin to kill me
So I went back and read the first few letters
That said some shit about a message you left
Oh shit that’s not an “e” that’s an “a”
This dude wants to leave me a massage he’s gay
Right away I’m on the phone with Dr. Dre
We got a bogey “Marshall I’m on the way”
Can-a-bitch oh can-a-bitch where for art thou can-a-bitch?
Please tell me what happened with that style that you were rappin with?
Can-a-bitch oh can-a-bitch are you from Los Angeles
New York or just a janitor from Canada? Oh Can-a-bitch
So in two seconds flat Dre’s at my crib
Only thing is we both know where this kid lives
And neither one of us have Canadian citizenship
Shit oh Dre wait a mintue that’s it
All we gotta do is use a bit of turbo boost
We can fly over the border “Let’s go whoosh”
So we’re off to Toronto and we’re gainin speed
*Pfftt Arghh* What was that? Oh Jermaine Dupre fuck It
Keep goin no time to waste
Wait backup hit him one more time in case (Okay)
Fuck now he’s draggin under the car
Oh well only 30 more thousand miles
Meanwhile me and Dre are tryin to conversate
Just tryin to find a reason for the constant hatin
And tryin to figure out what happened to Jermaine propaine
“He couldn’t have fell of that hard” ain’t no way
“What happened to the way you was rappin,
When you was scandalous then Canabis turned into a television evangelist?”
Plus he raps with his regular voice
*Pft, pft, pft, pft* “What was that?” (Pet Shop Boys)
So we pull up to the bridge where he last was spotted
His corpse was still movin but his ass was rotted
He kind of smelled a little like Courtney Love
I figured if I stick him with a fork he’s done
So I stapped him twice kept jabbin christ
He won’t die this guy’s like a battered wife
He’s like Kim he keeps comin back for more
But he won’t fight back I cracked his jaw
Hold up Bis quit foldin up
Punch me in the chest make my shoulders touch
Do somethin at least one punch line
C’mon till the meter reads 9-9-9-tey-nine percent of my fans are blonde
Bis c’mon answer me man respond
Tell me bout the sun, rain, moon and stars
Intergalatic or metaphors from Mars
Raw to the floor raw like Resovoir dogs
Bite another line from Red Man’s song
Suddenly the stub of a dead man’s arm from a midget
Reaches out from under the car
It’s JD, this motherfucker won’t die neither
Dre starts sprayin him with cans of Ether *Sshhhh*
We stomped the bitch and then stopmed the bitch again
(Compton) Detroit Bitch talk some shit again
Stomp him (switch feet)
Stomp him (switch again)
Dre alright he’s dead dawg quit kickin him
I think Stan-abis jumped off the bridge again (Arghhhhhh…..Damn!)
He disappeared yo he’s gone he did it again
[Chorus]
U Didn’t Care Lyrics
[Chorus]
You.. didn’t, care about me
And now this is how it has to be
I was lost, but now I am free
I’m happy cuz I found a family
[Verse 1]
Whattup Em’, it’s ya biggest fan
It’s not even necessary to introduce who I am
by now, cuz we’re good friends
Remember the letter I wrote, before Atlanta on Up In Smoke
That’s the day I was gonna cut ya throat
I guess my watch was broke — cuz by the time I woke
I seen my watch was twelve hours late and I missed the show
But none the less I’m glad that I finally reached you
Ever since the accident I’ve been dying to speak to you
To tell you things have changed, and I’m a different man
A different level of understanding, I’m a different Stan
Things are a lot better, I promise I won’t harrass you with any letters
Saying shit like “We should be together”
I may reach and start a group
The industry’s full of homosexuals Slim, but I don’t wanna fuck you
I got a new attitude, really, I ain’t mad at you
I just wanted you to recognize I got talent too
[Chorus]
[Verse 2]
When I say talented, I don’t mean battle kid
I mean storytellin, kinda like how ya album is
I been attendin counselin and takin medicine
They did some tests on me at NIH in Maryland
They showed me techniques to help me pressure
whenever I remember that crazy night when I was being reckless
Drivin with a deathwish, on the bridge and I crashed into a Lexus
Right before I finished that last sentence
I was listenin to Xzibit’s album “Restless”
The next thing I knew I was under water and breathless
I was unconscious for a second, literally dying to go to heaven
till some fellas came and pulled me from the wreckage
They started CPR, then they called the paramedics
In retrospect I probably shoulda used a gun to end it
By the time the car sunk
My pregnant girlfriend was still in the trunk
and I was still feelin kinda drunk
The ambulance came and they put me on the stretcher
Hooked me up to the IV and checked my blood pressure
One of them was so concerned that they wouldn’t leave
He hopped in the back of the ambulance and rolled up some weed
My vision was blurry, I couldn’t really see
I just remember his voice talking to me
In the emergency room, I needed surgery to get some glass removed
and fifty stitches for my wooze
[Chorus]
[Verse 3]
After a couple months of therapy,
I figured I was as ready as I’d ever be – I wanted to be an emcee
He took me to shows wit him, he let me flow wit him
He let me write some rhymes and go on tour wit him
I really believed in him, I decided to team wit him
And now I’m overseas wit him, gettin cheese wit him
And I’m emceein wit him, I’m havin the best time of my life
And I’m writin the best rhymes of my life
He introduces me to people as his lyrical equal
Let me write a rhyme on his album and even produce a beat too
He ain’t see-through, I can’t see him frontin
He’s not the type to call you, just because he needs somethin
That’s what I like about him,
I wouldn’t want to rock a mic without him
He’s got kahunas and he’s not a coward
Matta fact, I think he met you
It was the day you came to his video shoot with DJ, Jimmy’s nephew
‘Clef stepped to him and told him he should step to you
That you was ghost writin for L, but that wasn’t true
You was lookin at him the same way I’m lookin at you
Why can’t we be friends Em’, I don’t want nothin from you
You see there’s a little bit of Stan in all of us
Tell me where you think all of these record sales sparred from
Talkin ’bout Britney and Christina Aguilera
Nsync too, have you ever looked in a mirror?
Your hair ain’t really blonde, and ya eyes ain’t blue
So never diss me, cuz when you diss me your dissin you..
See.. See what happens when you don’t care
[Chorus]

Kim’s criminal records

Kim Mathers is no friend of Court. Between 2000 and 2004, she’s been charged several times under different circumstances.
In April 2000, Kim drove with a revoked driving licence and she received a second drunken conviction.
Then in June 2000, Kim got in trouble again at Hot Rocks Cafe. As a consequence of the incident with John Guerra, she was charged for distubing the peace.
Marshall filed for divorce on June the 22nd 2000 and Kim attempted suicide on July the 7th. But she soon got into trouble again : on the 4 th of August 2000, Kim had a severe argument with her twin sister Dawn.. She hit her and was accused of assaulting her.
In October 2000, she pleaded guilty in Court to her disorderly conduct charge.
It is known that Marshall accepted to pay $15,000 for her legal fees. Kim had to go to an Alcoholocic Anonymous meeting every week. Appearently, it didn’t help a lot.
In July 2001, Kim was caught travelling with an unauthorized substance (less than 25 g cocain) in her car in Harrisson Township. She was walking down with a friend when the police controlled her vehicle and found the white powedered substance in her car.
Kim was charged with possession of cocaine.
Kim risked up to four years jail sentencce if she was convicted, but the lawsuit was dismissed five months later, according to the Michigan Court legal documents.
On June the 17th 2002, Judith and Douglas Schlabach filed a lawsuit against Kim. She had her truck stolen in June 2001 and the person who was driving it, Adam Erik Jenkins caused damages greater than 25 000 $. Jenkins had taken Kim’s truck without permission and caused an accident on 32 Mile Road.
As long as we don’t learn our lesson, we are condamned to repeat the same mistakes again and again.
In June 2003, during Eminem’s European Anger Management Tour, Kim was arrested in Saint Clair Shores by the police who found some cocaine again in her car. This event caused a lot of disagrement to Marshall who took a private jet during his tour to file a request for Hailie’s full custody. He was worried about the fact Kim could face some possible jail charges.
In September 2003, Kim appeared before a judge, but she missed two Court dates and was under electronic house arrest.
But Kim really worried her whole entourage when she suddenly disappeared in November 2003 without anybody knowing where she was. She was found by the police about three weeks later.
Kim was judged recently and faces two years of probation. She will have to stay drug and alcohol free during

Eminem Buying Neverland? Nope … But Never Say Never

Eminem Buying Neverland? Nope … But Never Say Never
02.18.2004
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1485160/20040218/story.jhtml
Can you imagine Eminem cleaning out his closet ‘ and his giraffe pen, his carousel, his go-kart racetrack and his video game arcade?
US Weekly reported in this week’s issue that Eminem is considering purchasing Michael Jackson’s sprawling, carnival-like Neverland Ranch (see “Jackson Fans Binge On Candy, Slurpees, Ice Cream At Neverland”), but on Wednesday (February 18) Em’s camp dismissed the piece.
The magazine cites a source who claims Marshall Mathers is sick of cold Detroit winters and is looking for a nice area in which to raise his daughter, Hailie Jade. Several other media outlets, including television shows like “Access Hollywood,” have also run with the story.
“We don’t see him leaving Detroit anytime soon,” the rapper’s spokesperson told MTV News, playfully adding, “But you never know.”
Jackson moved out of the 2,700-acre property, located 90 miles north of Los Angeles in Santa Barbara County, after his recent legal troubles (see “Michael Jackson Pleads Not Guilty To Child-Molestation Charges”), though the property has been on the market for many months. The Santa Barbara County Assessor’s Office reported last year that the value of Neverland Ranch is $12.2 million, though Jackson had it listed for close to $50 million.

Eminem vs Moby

It is no secret for anybody that Eminem doesn’t like Moby at all. Not only that he doesn’t like his music, but he can’t stand Moby as a person either.
When Eminem doesn’t like somebody, he has the honesty to express it publicly, which is a rare thing in the music industry.
That’s what he expressed in an interview with Radio 1 :
“I don’t give a fuck who gets mad at me, I hate techno music, I’m sorry but I can’t stand it. Like, when I used to be on drugs it used to blow my high and like now that I can’t be on drugs it blows my high even worse. So just for the record, I hate techno music, so no matter how good Moby is, it’s not going to change anything.”
The feud between Eminem and Moby began when Moby expressed about the talented rapper at the 2001 Grammys and spoke out against his lyrics :
‘ The weird thing is that I actually do think that Eminem has skills as an MC, but it disturbs me that he glorifies homophobia and misogyny in his songs, especially seeing as his listeners are, for the most part, very impressionable 10-year-old boys. “I won’t be dissing him back (given the fact that my skills as an MC are terrible), … but I will say, as I said before, that musicians need to assume a certain artistic responsibility when their fanbase is very, very young.
“From my perspective, any music that glorifies abuse, misogyny, homophobia or racism is disturbing, but especially so when it’s targeted to a fanbase of 10-year-old boys. If you’re reading this, Eminem, thanks for the dis. No hard feelings from me. “

Of course Eminem has skills as an MC, but his lyrics need to be understood. Eminem listeners are not only 10 year old boys. In fact, Eminem’s audience is composed of various people from different social classes. Moby has certainly read Eminem’s lyrics, but he didn’t get their hidden sense. His words belong to typical stereotypes I’m fighting against.
And what probably angered Eminem is the fact that Moby brought back all those stereotypes which are due to a total misunderstanding of the artist.
Eminem retaliated against Moby in his well known and appreciated song ‘ Without Me ‘ :
“And Moby? You can get stomped by Obie
You thirty-six year old baldheaded fag, blow me
You don’t know me, you’re too old, let go
It’s over, nobody listens to techno”

And when Eminem interprets the song on stage, Moby gets ‘killed’. Or should I say: a Moby impersonator gets symbollically ‘killed’ on stage while he flows in the air as a spaceman, to the greatest delight of the fans.
At the 2002 VMA Awards, Eminem won 4 awards all for ‘Without Me’:
-Best Video Of The Year – Without Me
-Best Male Video – Without Me
-Best Rap Video – Without Me
-Best Direction In A Video – Without Me (Director: Joseph Kahn)
Mtv’s pupeeter of Insult Comic Dog, Robert Smigel’s words against Eminem while sitting next to Moby were more than provocative:
[Eminem] should lighten up… I mean, my mom was a bitch too, but I don’t go writing songs about it. ‘Triumph
Moby was afraid for the safety of the puppet more than of his own safety when Eminem reacted badly and that actually sounds funny:
”I was more concerned for Triumph’s well-being. If Eminem wants to pick on someone, fine, pick on me, but don’t diss the dog-puppet. Triumph the dog-puppet is my hero. That’s the sole reason that I went to the VMAs. ‘Cos I love that little dog-puppet.”
Eminem reacted badly against Moby, calling him a lady and flipping the bird. In fact, the incident occured not because Eminem is deprived of any sense of humor, but because he had no idea of who Triumph was. Nobody had told him about what was going on, so Eminem thought the puppet was fabricated by Moby. Mr Smigel thought that his intervention would have a funny effect:
“They paired me with Moby, and I was like, ‘If I do Moby, it would be great to go from him to Eminem, since Eminem hates Moby.’ And they’re like, ‘Great, great, we’ll set you and Moby down near Eminem right before the bit. And I’m like, ‘O.K., are you going to tell Eminem?'”
“‘Ahhhh, he’s got a great sense of humor. He’s going to love it. Eminem, he’s funny!’ And, of course, he had no idea who Triumph was. He thought I was some puppet Moby had fashioned to torment him.”

At the 2003 VMA Awards, Eminem humored the past event while destroying a puppet of the crank yankers.
While he was receiving his’ best male award’, Eminem got boeed and he thought Moby was booing him too:
“Sorry, that li’l Moby girl threw me out of my zone for a minute. Keep booing, li’l Moby-girl. I will hit a man with glasses.”
He apologized later on while receiving the best video award.
Moby pretends that it is untrue:
“And I do feel the need to clarify one last little point. When Eminem accepted his award I was not booing. Ironically enough, I was clapping because that seemed like the polite thing to do. Everyone around me was booing him, but I was sitting there politely clapping. I don’t know why he accused me of booing him, because for what it’s worth I certainly was not. Ok, that’s it.”
Eminem also called Moby a ‘pussy’ and theatened to beat him up:
‘The truth is that I honestly, in all sincerity, thought that the whole Eminem thing was done in some semblance of humor until Eminem called me a pussy(that was off camera) and then threatened to beat me up. I think that Eminem is talented and interesting but I’m kind of stunned at the anger that he has for me seeing as I’d never met him up until last night.”
Unfortunately, Moby should know that he cannot force Eminem’s sympathy. Like anybody of us, he will always find people who like him or some others who dislike him. His comments on Eminem’s are are pointless, though. As you probably know, Eminem’s lyrics are not to be taken literally.
Moby seems to respect Eminem as an artist, but he doesn’t seem to get his lyrics. But he’s far from the truth when he states some of his fantasies:
‘He shoots me on stage, he dresses up like me in the video, talks about having sex with me in his song. I’ve figured it out. He has a crush on me. And at some point he found out that I was straight and he’s so upset and hurt, the fact that he has this unrequited crush on me, that’s why he’s so upset. I’m just waiting for Eminem to come out of the closet.”
He is crazy to think Eminem could have a crush on him. Matter of fact: Eminem can’t stand him.
When Moby got attacked at Paradise Club in Boston after a concert, some Eminem fans were suspected, but nobody can prove those people were actually Eminem fans:
“I am hardly the most physically threatening person . If anyone sees me in the next couple of weeks and I have some big bruises or stitches on my face, well at least you know why. I’m not angry, I don’t feel vindictive. I just hope that at some point in these guys’ lives they come to realise that hurting other people is wrong.”
If some fans of Marshall are involved, I would describe their behavior as plain stupid. Those are the kind of fans who usually give Eminem a bad name. But still, the rapper is not responsible for his fans crazy behavior if they happen to be involved in the incident.
I do appreciate Eminem for his honesty. He has the sincerity to show when he dislikes a person, which is something rare in a society where hypocrisy is priviledged before honesty. My request towards Marshall Mathers is following :
‘ Don’t ever change. Keep being yourself. We fans love you for that quality in particular. ‘
To quote Mr Vontese from Los Angeles about the 2002 MTV Awards:
“Eminem is an outstanding performer who is constantly booed and put down for being real. I was really upset that everyone at the awards loved him one minute and turned on him the next for being himself. Don’t follow the crowd. Love him or leave him the fuck alone! Keep being you, Em.”

Eminem overrated ? Certainly not

According to a US poll, some people think that Eminem and Britney Spears are the most overrated artists in the show business.
Honestly, I don’t grant Britney Spears any talent, and as far as I am concerned, the best product she can sell is her beauty.
But in Eminem’s case, it is different. I don’t care about the way he is marketted and about the image the media display of him.
-First of all, Eminem has talent. He has proven his lyrical skills and he is definitly gifted for rap. This man was born to be a rapper.
One could hardly contest Eminem’s mastery of the English language. His way to handle words and syllables make him unique in the world of hip hop.
– from his first to his most recent album, Eminem has always offered excellent and original work.
– Most of the artists become worst when their two first albums are successful. Eminem hasn’t disappointed his fans with the ‘ Eminem Show ‘. The more mature he becomes, the better his work is.
– Eminem’s videos are well made and very original. He exactly knows how to captivate his public.
– Eminem wasn’t born with a golden spoon in his mouth. Unlike many stars in the showbizz, he came from nothing to stardom. He has worked very hard to become what he is now.
Some people may object that Eminem’s image is exploited by the media and that he has become a sex symbol. So what ? Eminem is not responsible of the image the media display of him. He is exploited commercially as well as J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter books. That’s just the way the show business and the industry work. None of the artists or celebrities can be held responsible for this.
But one thing cannot be denied : Eminem is a talented artist with a great personality which is the main reason of his massive success.
To the person who told me : ‘ In a few years Eminem will be long forgotten, most overrated rapper ever’ ‘, let me tell you that you are totally wrong. A lot of people do appreciate Eminem for other reasons than his pretty face. We are numerous to be conscious that the talented rapper actually is a lyrical genius and a very gifted musician.

Local Teen Accused Of Carjacking Eminem’s Mom

Police say a local teen accused of heisting a vehicle from a woman likely did not know that his victim was the mother of Eminem.

Police Describe Alleged Attack On Rap Star’s Mom
The incident reportedly took place on the same street made famous by the rap star’s movie “Eight Mile.”
Debbie Nelson (pictured, left) was sitting in her late model Honda Accord while pumping gas at a BP on Eight Mile and Coolidge roads around 11:30 p.m. when she was approached by a teen armed with a silver handgun.
The suspect demanded her car and threatened to kill her if she did not get out of the vehicle, according to Oak Park police.
“He demanded that she get out of the car. He produced a handgun, made threats to her and then forcibly pulled her out of the car,” said Lt. John McNeilance of the Oak Park Public Safety Department.
Oak Park police say the teen then drove away from the gas station onto westbound Eight Mile.
Nelson went into the BP and told an attendant what happened. She then called police from a nearby pay phone, according to Local 4 reports.
A short time later, police spotted her black Honda Accord waiting at a traffic light.
“There came a point when the subject was blocked in by traffic at a red light and knew the officer was behind him and then jumped out of the car and ran. The officer pursued him on foot and was able to apprehend him and put him in custody,” said McNeilance.
Police recovered Nelson’s car and arrested James Antonio Knott, 16, of Detroit.
Knott (pictured, right) has been charged as an adult with carjacking and armed robbery.
Nelson, 49, says she wasn’t able to contact her son, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III. Police say they don’t think the carjacker knew Nelson’s identity.
Nelson’s rocky relationship with Eminem has been no secret since he became a star. He’s disparaged his mother in songs such as “Cleanin Out My Closet.”
A friend of the rap-star mom told Local 4 that Nelson was not injured in the accident but that she suffers from high blood pressure, and was at home resting.

Eminem vs Esham

Esham is a Detroit acid rap artist. He is also known as ‘ Esham the Unholy ‘.
The whole beef started when Eminem mentioned acid rap in his ‘ Slim Shady LP ‘.
In the ‘ Kill You ‘ track from the Marshall Mathers LP, he says : ‘ I don’t acid rap, I rap on acid … ‘
Esham pretends to have the same content than Eminem in his lyrics :
It’s a fucking major struggle, when the same lyrical content that Eminem has is the same lyrical content that I have. But at the same time, they won’t put me up on MTV saying that shit. It’s just different rules. We’re all playing on different sides of the fence.”
Esham accuses Eminem of stealing his style. Eminem was influenced by Esham, but whatever Esham may say, both artists sound completely different.
In his ‘ Still Don’t Give A Fuck ‘ lyrics, Eminem claims : ‘ I’m a cross between Manson, Esham and Ozzy ‘.
On the 2001 Warped Tour, a struggle between Esham his NATAs member T.N.T and the D12 members (except for Eminem who wasn’t involved because he didn’t participate to the tour) happened that lead to Esham’s hospitalization. Esham accuses Eminem of programming and anticipating his murder.
Road manager Brian Curran witnessed the scene :
‘ I was walking toward the area where all of the buses were parked, and saw them [Esham and T.N.T,] walking by the guard rails that surround the buses. Then I see this blue bus which later I was told was D-12’s, drive by them bust a u-turn and then 30 or 40 guys piled out of the bus and started to beat on Esham and T.N.T. ‘
D12 member Proof has admitted being involved :
“…at the show in Philly. I hoped off [our bus] and D12 followed and we whooped him and TNT ass”
Esham dissed the D12 group on his album. He insisted on how much the D12 were scared of him (why should they ?). In his song ‘ Chemical Imbalance ‘ he disses Hailie badly : “I wont get on MTV cuz I beat up Carson Daily, remind Eminem of D’Angelo Bailey, Hailie’s in a coma, Hailie’s in a coma I smell the aroma of a dead body killa.” Esham also calls ‘ D12 ‘ ‘ Dick 12 ‘.
Most of Eminem’s enemies don’t seem to have serious arguments against the talented MC and Hailie seems to be their main target. They calculate the effect created by their diss on Hailie in advance in order to get a mad answer from Marshall. Personal attacks are meant to weaken him (anybody who would attack my kids that way would certainly affect me). But even if it may affect Marshall and get on his nerves, they seem to forget that they have to do with the best battle MC !
Eminem’s enemies also lack originality most of the time. Their attacks on the talented rapper appear to be publicity stunts. They more they talk about Eminem, the more they are talked about.
The D12 member Swifty MC Vay expressed on Esham in an interview given to ‘ Live Daily ‘ :
‘ Esham is doing that to get money.this is my opinion. Esham been out, as far as I know, since 1991.He dropped over 10 albums already and they did nothing for nobody, except for [Esham’s side project] NATAS. I can’t knock him for bringing his boys out. But he does nothing for nobody. Now Eminem took the world by storm and I’m not saying this just to be arrogant. Esham’s in the same city. He’s dissing (Eminem’s) daughter, he’s dissing his ex-wife. He’s dissing Eminem for no reason except to make us talk about him again.’It’s a publicity stunt. ‘Eminem doesn’t even know him.He doesn’t have any kind of excursion with him. They never hung out. They never exchanged money. He never borrowed any money. It seems to me that he is doing this so we can talk about him back, just so the crowd can see what Esham is gonna say about us. ‘
Maybe Eminem has found some inspiration in Esham’s style, but Esham has never been his one and only source of inspiration. Eminem’s musical influences are various and numerous, you can find them in Ice T’s music as well as in the Beastie Boys, NWA or LLCool J and many others.
Many artists like Esham or Cage have accused Eminem of copying their style. Matter of fact : those artists are still underground and unknown by many people. If their art was that great, why didn’t they emerge from their ‘ underground status ‘ ?
Eminem has nothing to prove in that way. Even if some artists’ style has been a source of inspiration to Marshall Mathers, he has fully proven to be an original artist with a lot of imagination and a sophisticated rhyming style.

Eminem’s mom carjacked

The mother of rapper Eminem was reportedly carjacked Thursday night in metro Detroit.
http://www.clickondetroit.com/entertainment/2788866/detail.html

Debbie Nelson (pictured, left) was sitting in her late model Honda Accord while pumping gas at the BP gas station located at Eight Mile and Coolidge roads around 11:30 p.m., WDIV-TV in Detroit learned. She was approached by a man with a silver handgun who demanded her car and threatened to kill her if she did not get out of the car, according to Oak Park police.
The carjacker then grabbed Nelson and pulled her out of the vehicle, police said. He reportedly fled in Nelson’s car and headed west on Eight Mile Road.
Nelson reportedly ran into the gas station and called police from a pay phone.
When officers arrived, Nelson gave them the description and license plate number of her car, police said.
Officers located the car in the area of Seven Mile and Greenfield roads. The carjacker was stopped at a traffic light and blocked in by other cars, so he fled on foot when he realized the officers were following him, according to police.
Police took the male 16-year-old Detroiter into custody. Oak Park police are reportedly trying to have the 16-year-old charged as an adult.
Debbie Nelson is known for her controversial relationship with son Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem, who resides in the metro Detroit area.
