It isn’t that easy to be a good rapper

Detractors of hip hop culture and rap music prompt to say that ‘ anybody can rap ‘, that ‘ rap ain’t music, it’s crap ‘. All those people are totally wrong in their judgements, because they totally ignore what rap music is all about. It’s is so easy to be demeaning towards something they don’t even understand.
Rap music cannot be viewed the way you would look at classical music, but it is a very complicated and sophisticated art.
A good rapper needs to have a lot of qualities :
– First, to be credible, he needs to come from a hip hop cultural background.
Although rap music was born and has been developped by the black community, it has a universal vocation.
– he must be able to write good quality lyrics. Instead of being shocked by the many cusswords you can find inside of a rap text, people should try to look at the poetry and the meaning of the words. Many rap lyrics are street poetry.
– He needs to have a good sense of rythm and the rythm he puts in his music must marry with the text.
– A good MC needs to captivate his audience, he needs to have charisma
– A good must be balanced in his body and be a good breakdancer
– And many more’
Hip hop is a very complete artistic expression which uses painting (graffitis), music (rap), dance (breakdance), poetry. Hip hop culture should be respected as a cultural enrichment to society.
It is so untrue that ‘ anybody can rap ‘. Rapping is a real job that requires a lot of work. There are so many rappers on this planet, but not all of them can claim to be good rappers.

Eminem touring with Hailie?

Maybe it would be more secure for Hailie if daddy and daughter could be touring together.
Last June, during Eminem’s European tour, Hailie had to face some real difficulties at school:
http://www.clubid.nl/clubs.php?clubid=1916
Two of Eminem’s nannies don’t seem to be trustworthy. JR Watkins has betrayed him by displaying intimate details about his privacy in 2002.
Nadine Bailey has caused some scandal in June 2003. She was accused of punching a little girl, Hailie’s pal named Karrie Laws. She also made the little girl swallow some soap, accusing her of lying about her homework.
Her mom said:
“Karrie has been subjected to ongoing abuse.”
Karrie is the daughter of Kenneth Laws, Eminem’s bodyguard.
Human relationships aren’t always simple to handle, particularly when you’re a superstar.
Eminem does his best to give Hailie the most comfortable life. He is a very loving father.
As he stated it on Radio 1, his daughter is actually the most important person in his life:
“… I’m never gonna hold back on expressing my
love for my daughter. There’s nothing that can
strip that… She’s obviously the most important
thing to me. She’s so beautiful and so smart”

(Radio 1 interview)
The only problem is that he’s barely at home with Hailie. Touring with her might be the solution, who knows?

A typical example of irresponsible parenting

To many parents, Eminem is a perfect culprit. Because some of his lyrics contain explicit sexual content and offensive words, it is so easy to accuse him at first at to make him look guilty when a child acts in a perverted way.
An event that happened in 2002 was giving Eminem a bad name :
http://news.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2002/08/29/nemin29.xmlI
In Manchester, a 12 years old boy who had listened to the Ken Kaniff skit had the bad idea to threaten a 9 years old boy with a piece of metal and to force him to perform some oral sex on him.
My question is : how many persons in this world (including teenage kids) have listened to the Ken Kaniff skit ? How many of them have acted weird afterwards ? Probably very few.
The story has been debatted here :
http://www.buzzgrinder.com/archives/eminem_lyrics_blamed_in_sex_crime.php
Who is Ken Kaniff ? Ken Kaniff is a sick character that is obviously gay. He appears several times on Eminem’s three records, the Slim Shady LP, the Marshall Mathers LP and the Eminem Show. Ken Kaniff also appears on the Slim Shady Show.
You will find more info about Ken Kaniff here :
http://www.shadysoldiers.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1885&PN=1
The track that ‘ inspired ‘ the 12 years old boy is probably the Ken Kaniff skit from the Slim Shady LP :
[Ken Kaniff]I’m gonna call this motherfucker.
Oh fuck yeah.
Give him a piece of mind. A piece of my ass.
[Operator]Thank you for waiting. Hello, may I help you.
[Ken Kaniff]Oh thank you. I need to make a collect call.
[Operator]What number?
[Ken Kaniff]Oh the number is **6-2***
[Operator]At the tone, please say your name.
[Ken Kaniff]Kenneth Kaniff, from Connecticut. Automated piece of shit.
[Eminem]Yo.
[Ken Kaniff]Hey there, cock boy.
[Eminem]Who’s this?
[Ken Kaniff]This is Ken Kaniff.
[Eminem]Who?
[Ken Kaniff]Ken Kaniff from Connecticut, you little bitch.
[Eminem]From Connecticut? I don’t know nobody in Connecticut.
[Ken Kaniff]Yeah, you wanna get a hotel room with me?
[Eminem]A hotel room?
[Ken Kaniff]Yeah, you want me to lick your ass, Eminem?
[Eminem]Yo, who is this, Cage?
[Ken Kaniff]You want me to fuckin melt in your mouth and not in your hand?
Melt in your ass you little cock boy.
[Eminem]Yo, shut up you little bitch.
[Ken Kaniff]Oh, you think I’m lying huh…
[Eminem] Hahahahahaha

Ok, the language is explicit. Ken Kaniff offers a parody of a gay character. The skit is funny and isn’t aimed at 12 years old kids.
I’d say that this story is a typical example of irresponsible parenting. The mom of the teenager did not even any idea of what Eminem’s lyrics were about :
‘ My son likes Eminem but I have only let him listen to tracks that make the charts. When they played that awful song in the courtroom I felt sick. ‘
If she had known, she would have had the possibility to buy her son some clean version Eminem Cds. As far as I am concerned, forbidding Eminem to her son is not the solution. Parents should take their children’s musical tastes into account’but not only their musical choices. Parents should try to know their kids better. If they really invested themselves more in knowing their kids better, it would certainly avoid a lot of drama.
Ken Kaniff’s words are not the real problem of the 12 years old boy mentioned in this story. It is goes deeper than that. It is obvious that this teenager had some mental problems that might be solved by counselling.
Eminem never told anybody of his listeners or fans to act weird. He never cautioned crazy behavior. In his song ‘ Stan ‘, he advices Stan not to act ‘ crazy ‘.
It is not a proven fact that music perverts people. The people who are convinced of the contrary should also accuse any creator of a ‘ crime story ‘ to promote violence and murder. So many people are watching violent movies that are about crime and rape. That doesn’t make criminal or rapists of them.
People accuse Eminem out of ignorance. I agree with this statement made about Eminem on a musical review website :
‘Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers = M&M = Eminem = GET IT?) is a foul-mouthed, hilarious, ultra-clever white rapper who has set the flame of the world alight with fire during the past few years with his supposedly profane woman- and gay-bashing lyrics, violent situations and adult themes – targeted towards kids! He has been set up as a kind of supervillain in the press when all he really is is a really smart songwriter who sings about things that make uptight people uncomfortable for a very good reason – they’re the same things that make STUPID people violent. You and I both know that if we hear a song about raping or murdering somebody, it’s just a song. But there are loads and LOADS of unbelievably ignorant, violent, maladjusted freaks out there who may very well take this stuff a little too seriously. Right? So the uptight people are correct, right? And Eminem is just out to make money without concern for our children’s well-being? Not necessarily. He just doesn’t think that he should take the blame for society’s stupidity. The dangers of creating an unintended response in certain listeners is, in fact, the main theme of the Marshall Mathers LP. But everybody seems to miss that, harping instead on his ‘fag-bashing’ and ‘woman-bashing.’ He’s just JOKING when he does that crap. Those are the kinds of jokes that smart people MAKE when they’re making fun of DUMB people. So let’s actually talk about the albums, okey-dokey? Okey-dokey indeed, Mr. Prindle!’
You will also find some full comments about Eminem’s albums on the same website:
http://www.markprindle.com/eminem.htm
Another person said: ‘Look if you’re going to be forcing little boys into sodomy while theatening them with a metal pipe I think you have bigger problems that what’s in your CD player’. She has a good point.
The problem of this 12 years old boy lies elsewhere and he probably needs a serious therapy.
There is nothing wrong with teenagers in general listening to Eminem. Parents just should make it sure that their kid is mature enough to listen to his songs. If they aren’t , buying clean CDs should be a real alternative. In both cases, it supposes that parents perfectly know their kids’ character, which means focusing a real interest on them.
Don’t blame Eminem for your own failures.

My Band D12

Today is the ‘ My Band ‘ video Premiere. The song will be on D12’s (impatiently awaited ) next album ‘ Halloween ‘.
‘ My Band ‘ is one of the new D12 track you can listen to on D12world.com. It is hilarous from the beginning to the end.
Eminem starts joking about his ‘ leader status ‘ of the D12 group. Eminem makes fun of a specific category of girls : the kind of girls who are not even interested in his music and who don’t even know the name of his group members. So many times, he gets approached by girls out of lust. Some girls would do anything just to have sex with him.
The text is written in a funny way and the way Eminem jokes about the jealousy of the other members creates a comical effect.
Swifty fights with Eminem to get the mic. Kuniva and Kon Artis argue that Eminem always sounds best. Bizarre intends to leave the group and start a solo career in the song. A very funny Salsa song made by Eminem ends the song.
Swifty’s statements which are supposed to be made out of anger and jealousy, but they refer to a real problem : many girls are just focused on Eminem, his pretty face, his superstardom. They are physically attracted to him and they like his glory and his fame. Their interest for the music he produces is very little. They are, in fact, unable to make any difference between the other D12 members. They’d easily confuse Kon Artis with Swifty and they don’t see their value as a solo artist.
If you take time to listen and to look at the other D12 member’s lyrics on the ‘ Devil’s Night ‘ album, you will see that they are very creative and funny. Bizarre has often the illest lyrics.
If you take a deeper look at the other D12 members besides Eminem, you will notice that Proof has real talent as a solo artist. Some of his tracks like ‘ Ride Out ‘ are really well made. Go explore Big Proof’s personal website (www.bigproof.com) to know more about the talented artist’s work and he may surprise you.
You can also discover some Kuniva and Kon Artis solo tracks on D12’s online mixtape.
Bizarre has a rich musical career behind him. He is well known for his ‘ Attack Of The Weirdos ‘. Bizarre deserves to get some recognition for himself as an artist. He is original, sometimes scary and always funny.
The D12 group is composed of six hard working members who are all unique, each person for his part. Try not only to focus your interest on Eminem. Each member and his alter ego are so interesting to discover for their talent.
“My Band”
[Intro]
I don’t know dude…
I think everyone’s all jealous and shit cuz I’m like the lead singer of a band dude…
And I think everyone’s got a fuckin problem with me dude…
And they need to take it up with me after the show…
Because…
[Chorus]
These chicks don’t even know the name of my band…
But they’re all on me like they wanna hold hands…
Cuz once I blow they know that i’ll be the man…
All because I’m the lead singer of my band…
[Verse 1 – Eminem]
So I get off stage right and drop the mic
Walk up to the hot chicks and I’m all like
“What’s up ladies, my name’s Slim Shady”
I’m the lead singer in D12 baby
They’re all like “Oh my god it’s him”
“Becky oh my fuckin’ god it’s Eminem”
“I swear to fuckin god dude you fuckin rock”
“Please won’t you please let me suck your cock”
And by now the rest of the fellas get jealous
Especially when I drop the beat and do my acapellas
All the chicks start yellin’, all the hot babes
Throw their bras and their shirt and their panties on stage
So like every single night they pick a fight with me
But when we fight it’s kinda like sibling rivalry
Cuz they’re back on stage the next night with me
Dude I just think you’re tryna steal the light from me
Yesterday Kuniva tried to pull a knife on me
Cause I told him Jessica Alba’s my wife to be
This rock star shit, it’s the life for me
And all the other guys just despise me because
[Chorus]
These chicks don’t even know the name of my band…
But they’re all on me like they wanna hold hands…
Cuz once I blow they know that i’ll be the man…
All because I’m the lead singer of my band…
My band [repeated 9xs]
[Verse 2 – Swifty]
You just wanna see a nigga backwards don’t you
Hey dad how come we don’t rap on proto
Smash these vocals and do a performance
But we in the van and he in a tour bus
You don’t want my autograph, yous a liar
And no I’m Swift (oh I thought you was Kuniva)
What the hell is wrong with that dressing room
Cuz my shit is lookin smaller than a decimal
See I know how to rap, see it’s simple but
All I did was read a Russell Simmons book
So I’m more intect, tryna get on the map
Doin’ jumpin jacks whilin’ get whipped on my back
[Verse 3 – Kuniva and Konartis]
Look at Em little punk ass thinkin’ he the shit
Yeah I know man find himself takin on a flick
Hey I thought we had an interview with DJ Clue
([Em:] No I had an interview not you two)
You gonna be late for soundcheck
Man I ain’t goin’ to soundcheck
But our mics are screwed up and his always sound best
You know what man I’ma say somethin
Hey yo Em
([Em:] You got somethin to say?!)
Man no
I thought you bout to tell him off, what’s up
Man I’ma tell him when I feel like it, man shut up
And you ain’t even back me up when we s’posed to be crew
When I was bout to talk right after you
I swear, I swear man
[Chorus]
These chicks don’t even know the name of my band…
But they’re all on me like they wanna hold hands…
Cuz once I blow they know that i’ll be the man…
All because I’m the lead singer of my band…
[Verse 4 – Proof]
They say the lead singers rock, but the group does not
Once we sold out arenas to the amusement park
I’m gonna let the world know that proof is hot
I should cut his mic off when the musics starts
Ready to snap on a dumbass fan
Every time i hear (Hey dude I love your band)
We ain’t a band bitch we don’t play instruments
So why he get 90 and we only get 10 percent
And these guys they can find every area code
([Em:] Proof carry my bag)
Bitch carry your own
Can’t make it to the stage, security in my way
(Who the fuck are you? Where’s Obie and Dre?!)
[Verse 5 – Bizarre]
***dammit I’m sick of this group
Time for me to go solo and make some loop
I told you I made the beats and wrote all the raps
Till Kon Artis slipped me some crack
Lose Yourself video I was in the back
Superman video I was in the back
Fuck the media, I got some suggestions
Fuck Marshall, ask us the questions
Like who’s D12, how we get started
(What about Eminem?)
Bitch are you retarded?
Anyway I’m the popularest guy in the group
Big ass stomache, bitches think I’m cute
50 told me to do situps to get buff
I did two and a half and then I couldn’t get up
Fuck D12, I’m outta this band
I’m gonna start a group with the real Roxanne
[Eminem]
Girl why cant you see your the only one for me
and it just tares my ass apart to know that you dont know my band…
[Chorus – Bizarre]
These chicks don’t even know the name of my band…(ha ha)
But they’re all on me like they wanna hold hands…(Fuck Marshall)
Cuz once I blow they know that i’ll be the man…
All because I’m the lead singer of my band…
My Band [Repeated 9x]
[Outro]
The hottest boy band in the world…
D12!
[Eminem as a salsa singer]
I’m the lead singer of my band, I get all the girl’s to take off their underpants
And the lead singer of my band, my salsa
Makes all the pretty girl’s wanna dance
My salsa, look out for my next single, it’s called My Salsa…
My salsa, salsa, salsa, salsa, my salsa
Makes all the pretty girls wanna dance
And take off their underpants
My salsa makes all the pretty girls wanna dance
And take off their underpants, my salsa
(Where’d everybody go?)

RAP STARS IN POLICE INVESTIGATION SHOCK

50 CENT, EMINEM, JAY-Z, P DIDDY and BUSTA RHYMES are amongst a host of hip-hop artists who have been allegedly secretly investigated by MIAMI police forces.
http://www.nme.com/news/107823.htm
The New York Police Department are currently denying that a ‘hip-hop division’ has been created in the city to monitor visiting rappers, though officers were reportedly put on a three-day ‘hip-hop training session’ in May to learn how to keep track of new rivalries.
Earlier this week (March 9) the Miami Herald exposed officers who said that they regularly photograph rappers when they arrive at Miami International Airport, tap hotel and club workers for information as well searching out regular haunts and video shoots.
Miami police Sergeant Rafael Tapanes said in the report: “A lot [of], if not most, rappers belong to some sort of gang. We keep track of their arrests and associates.”
This information is reportedly kept in a binder given to all who attended the ‘training’ session.
”Everybody that went got a binder with information on rappers that have been arrested, outlining charges,” Tapanes added. “They were trained on what to look for in the lyrics, what to look for when they go to hip-hop concerts, what radio stations and TV stations to monitor to keep abreast of any rift between these rappers.”
Miami Beach Assistant Police Chief Charles Press said: “We have to keep an eye on these rivalries. The last thing we need in this city is violence.”
A report today (March 12) in the Miami Herald reveals that the Miami Beach Black Host Committee say that they are deeply offended by the monitoring of the rappers.
The group, formed by the city’s mayor to help improve its relations with black residents and visitors, will hold a meeting today to outline their concerns.
Committe Chairman Henry Crespo said: “These folks are coming here to have fun, they’re spending money, buying bottles. Did they shoot somebody last week, have they been selling drugs, have they been involved in prostitution, have they killed anybody? If not, then what warrants this violation of a person’s privacy?”

Kim’s rehabilitation programme

Kim’s rehabilitation programm
To all the people who still take the song ‘Kim’ literally, let me tell you this: Eminem’s ex wife Kim is very lucky to have Marshall to take care of her and her kids.
After serving a 30 days sentence for her cocaine charges, Kim is now in Memphis. She precisely spends some time at the Sacred Heart Rehabilitaion Center in Tennessee. Her reahabilitation programm costs Eminem the huge amount of $50,000:
http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/0/EAA3076D4A370A9980256E5300738990!opendocument
People who know Eminem will know that he doesn’t pay out of obligation, but out of love for his family. Hailie has been through hard times since her mom has been incarcerated and she certainly misses her a lot.
Eminem feels concerned by Kim’s well being.
Appearently, Kim was facing a lot of problems in jail. A spokeswoman from the jail she had been incarcerated in said:
‘Kim was having problems in jail, but she did serve her entire 30 days.”
If we believe Todd Nelson’s statements, her detention conditions weren’t that good:
“She’s relieved to be out of prison and out of that jumpsuit. Now she can wear her own clothes, have a private room and get better food.’
It is also known that Kim has ‘country club’ priviledges at the center. Eminem and Hailie are expected to visit her soon.
No matter what he’s been through because of Kim, Eminem’s forgiveness is wonderful. Hopefully Kim will realize how much Marshall is devoted to her and her children and stop taking drugs for her family’s

Has Eminem seen the light?

Before the Eminem Show was released, it was rumored that it would have a gospel style. Some music journalists have spread the news all around on music channels. But those journalists didn’t seem to know the D12 crew very well. The D12 like cracking jokes and those statements about Eminem were obviously big jokes :
‘ He’s “seen the light,” , and it’s going to reflect in his music. Eminem is trading in his hardcore hip-hop MO and going the gospel rap route on his new LP, “The Eminem Show.”
Proof also added sarcastically :
“Em is about to open a church, and we’re gonna be his deacons'”
Even if the D12 were joking, it is true that ‘ The Eminem Show ‘ is different from the former Eminem albums. It shows more maturity in Eminem’s work and it talks about serious subject matters.
The Eminem Show pictures a man who has learnt from his former mistakes, a man who has given up drugs and who wants to expose his deep love for his daughter.
He also admits his weaknesses publicly when he says ‘ My insecurities could eat me alive ‘ in ‘ Hailie’s Song ‘.
The Eminem Show is also an open letter to Debbie for her to realize her mistakes and to admit she was wrong. Eminem wants to expose his pain publicly, but also to get rid of his demons from the past.
The Eminem Show is the work of a mature man. A man who also wants us to think about political issues. A man who wants to help us to humor even tragical events such as September the 11th.
Eminem’s album may be different from his preceding albums, but some detail haven’t changed : he is still a tender and caring father, he is still rebellious.
I do believe that he has ‘ seen the light ‘ in some way. The more mature he becomes, the more introspective he is. He is teaching anybody of us a lesson that could be summarized in two words : faith and determination. Determination is a theme that will probably continued in the next album he is currently working on. No doubt that ‘ To Be Determined ‘ will positively surprise us.
A man of faith will teach us great lessons about life if we’re open minded enough to listen t

A devoted family man: Eminem

‘I don’t want to end up rich and alone.’ (Eminem)
Marshall, who has known poverty is very conscious that money can’t buy him love. He’s a devoted and caring family man. After all and despite all his ex wife Kim has put him through, (he expresses it in his recent song ‘I love you more’), he still has feelings for her. When Marshall knew about Kim’s jail sentence, he was totally devastated. According to ‘Star Magazine’, Marshall cried: “Oh man, my Pooh Bear,30 days in the can!”
About Kim’s jail sentence, Todd Nelson says :
“She’s having a tough time of it in jail. She’s in the general prison population, but if there are any problems she could be placed in protective custody. After all, she was the wife of a big celebrity and still has strong ties to him.”
On the cover of a New Mag issue, you can see a picture of Marshall crying. Sometimes, he feels like his problems are too heavy to bear.
Since June 2003, Marshall had to face a lot of legal trouble. Worried about the fact his daughter could end up in a foster home when Kim was caught with some cocaine in her car, Marshall had to ask very fast for Hailie’s custody while he was touring. Eminem was also worried about losing Whitney, Kim’s second daughter with Eric Hartter, who lives with him. When Kim went back to Eminem in 2002, Marshall accepted to raise Whitney as his own daughter. But Mary, Eric Hartter’s mom sued Marshall in order to have some visitation rights.
Although Kim has tried to prove that Eminem was unfit to raise Hailie in 2001, the judge ruled that he was a ‘loving, devoted’ father and he allowed him to share custody.
Not even his worst enemies would deny the love Marshall feels for his little daughter. Hailie Jade is the best gift life has given to Marshall and he wants to be the best father for her.
It is even known that Marshall did anything possible to go home early after the 8 Mile Premiere. He wanted to be able to drive Hailie at school next morning.
Eminem has battled to reunite his family. As his grandmother Betty Kresin points it out, he is very family orientated:
‘He loves Kim and Hailie. He is a terrific father and very family orientated.
‘He doesn’t have a nanny.
‘He loves children. If he had his way he’d have a lot of children. He always wanted to a family.’

J.R Watkins, Kim’s cousin describes Marshall as a very good father:
“He’s a very good daddy. He’s trying to give Hailie more of a normal life than he had.”
Eminem’s former neighbor, Mary Russo, can testify that she often saw Daddy and daughter having fun out of their house:
Neighbours at his old house say he was always out playing with Hailie:
‘He dotes on her.
‘He scooters round the block with her on her bike. They are always giggling and having fun.’

A source that is close to Eminem said that Hailie expressed the wish to live full time with her daddy after Kim’s legal problems:
‘Hailie has indicated she wants to live with her dad full time and given Kim’s track record with drink and this latest drug arrest, Eminem believes he has a real chance of custody.
‘But he will only do it with Hailie’s blessing. He won’t do anything to hurt her.’

Eminem would sacrifice anything for his little girl and he deserves a lot of admiration for that.
Often described as a complete asshole and a bad boy by the media, Marshall is certainly not the horrible monster some people would like you to believe he is.
Marshall is a devoted family man who enjoys spending time with kids. Jerry Watkins can testify it: while she was cooking (at the time she was in good terms with Eminem), Marshall was playing around with her daughters and Hailie disguised as Kermit The Frog.
Betty Kresin is so right about it. Life should be easy for Marshall now, but he is still struggling and facing a lot of problems:
‘He has to wear a bullet-proof vest sometimes because of threats from rappers and people who used to work for him. He should be sitting on Easy Street. But instead, he’s still struggling.”
Stephania Synod, who is a senior student at Warren Lincoln High School summarizes it well.
“He has a lot of repressed anger and when he raps about that everyone always hates on him’
“Coming from this neighborhood, we understand how it is. It’s cool knowing someone coming from south Warren can become something great. It kind of gives me hope. And when he talks about how much he loves his daughter, it just shows that he has a heart and he’s not all hard-core rap.”

Marshall has a big heart for his daughter and for his family. He has a heart for his loyal fans. He is a role model for a youth that will look at his life story and learn from it that you ‘can do anything you set your mind to.’

Ain’t Nuttin But Music

You just started listening to ‘ Ain’t Nuttin’ But Music ‘ ?
Before getting offended by the provocative song, relax a little. Don’t take each word so seriously and have some fun listening to the song. Remember, those words are supposed to entertain and not to piss you off.
Eminem attacks Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Britney Spears in particular, gets dissed a bad way with a huge amount of details concerning her sexual life. He jokes about some fake pics of him penetrating Britney that you can find on the Internet, pretending that he fabricated those pics :
http://www.portesexe.com/TGP-9/image11.htm
He also makes jokes about Britney rejecting him. You need to realize that Eminem doesn’t always mean what he says on his records. Eminem doesn’t hate Britney Spears nor Christina Aguilera.
Check out Britney and Christina’s email to Eminem and Eminem’s response on Brachman.com. I don’t know how reliable this info is, but it is interesting :
http://www.brachman.com/jb_eminem-britney-christina-letter.htm
What is targetted most in ‘ Aint Nuttin’ But Music ‘ more than Britney and Christina is the fake world of pop artists Marshall didn’t want to be assimilated to because of his bleached blonde hair. He’s a gansgta rapper, not some sugarcoated pop artist who composes sugar sweet melodies just to please you.
He expressed the same point in his ‘ Marshall Mathers ‘ song :
‘ Now because of this blonde mop that’s on top
And this fucked up head that I’ve got, I’ve gone pop? ‘

Bizarre goes on making some jokes about the Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson. The whole world of pop is severely attacked , nobody can escape to the bullets that are spread by the D12 group.
The song is also making fun of parents who get mad at the lyrics :
‘Ur mom and dad probably mad at us, we did turned their kids into little body snatchers…’
Not only some parents, but also the media get mad at the lyrics of the song. The medias’ censorship is hypocritical, as Swifty intelligently points it out:
‘it’s only music, media know it, but they blind…’
So many people have tried to shut Eminem and his fellows down:
‘u people get offended, i dont care
(stop cryin)
tryin to get us to leave…’

Eminem and his fellows from D12 enjoy writing their lyrics. Rapping is their passion and their job is to entertain. It is so simple to relax and just to enjoy the music. The sentences are funny and ‘of course- not to be taken literally.
The D12 have been accused of ‘making money by exploiting the world’s misery’ or to be responsible of ‘society’s decay’.
In fact, some parts of the ‘Devil’s Night’ album are the mirror of a decadent society. The D12 album describes this decadent society with a lot of humor.
Feminists may get offended by these lines:
‘For all the independent women in the house
show us ur tits and shut ur mother fuckin mouths…’

The D12 are making fun of this world and they want you to relax and laugh with them:
‘What’s goin on in the world today? people fightin, feudin, lootin, its ok
let it go, let it flow, let the good times roll, tell em dre
(drdre)it aint nuttin but music
whats goin on in the world today? people fightin, feudin, lootin, its ok
let it go, let it flow, let the good times roll, tell em dre
(drdre)it aint nuttin but music…’

The chorus explains it to you, it’s high time you chilled out instead of worrying.
It ain’t nothing but words and music…
Hahahaha

Shit Hits The Fan

‘ Shit Hits The Fan ‘ gives you another taste of Eminem’s collaboration with Obie Trice and Dr Dre.
The song from Obie’s album ‘ Cheers ‘ makes the enemies of the Shady camp look totally ridiculous. They are pictured as big cowards. Ja Rule is targetted in front line.
The Shady camp is all about loyalty and Eminem knows that his fans are, most of the time, genuine and loyal people. A crowd of zillion who are ready to back him as well as the Shady camp:
‘ What you gonna do when shit hits the fan
Are you gonna stand and fight like a man?
Will you be as hard as you say you are?
Or you gonna run and go get your bodyguard?
I said What you gonna do when shit hits the fan?
Are you gonna stand and fight like a man?
And show us you’re as hard as you say you are?
Or you gonna run and go get your bodyguard? ‘

Dr Dre explains the struggle of some rappers to get their own label. His verse is also a clear allusion to his former deceased fellow Easy E who founded Ruthless Records he founded by using the money he had made from drug deals :
‘ Niggaz is so gangsta, Niggaz is thugs
Niggaz’ll spend their whole life peddlin drugs
Slanging dope in hopes of one day bein able
To own their own label and give the game up
Some niggaz came up, some just didn’t
That’s just the way it is, if it ain’t meant it, it just isn’t
Some niggaz’ll get money and pay niggaz to back em
So they can act up, feel comfortable, and rap tough
And that’s as backwards, cuz them niggaz just gone keep coming back
And that’s when extortion happens
You struggle to get free, I know how this shit be
You deal with anything to live legitimately
But you gone find if you do get in this industry
It’s best to be business with me than against me’ ‘

Dr Dre makes his opponents look ridiculous. Ja Rule is targetted in particular. Eminem’s producer is a giant in the music industry. Matter of fact : Ja Rule is really far ‘ under his radar ‘. Ja Rule may be obsessed with Tupac, Dr Dre knew him personally. He used to collaborate with Tupac.
Ja Rule has no credibility as a gangsta, neither is he credible lyrically. His lyrics are weak and grammatically incorrect. What should we think of a man who cannot even spell the name of the black leaders on his current CD ‘ Blood In My Eye ‘ and who thinks he’s in competition with the pioneer of gangsta rap ? That’s laughable.
Obie Trice sends warnings to all of them enemies who run their mouth, but who appear to be cowards in real life. Eminem’s diss against Ja Rule is a fist against him and certainly a loss for his career. A lot of people in the world of hip hop have turned against him.
The last warning is about the fans’ reactions. What will the adversaries of the Shady camp do, will they stand up like real men or search for some protection from their bodyguards?
Many Eminem fans (including me) have felt offended by the Murder Inc disses against the whole Shady camp. Many of us Shady soldiers are ready to back the Shady camp.
But maybe Ja Rule and his camp should really fear some ‘crazed Stans’ who might harm them for real, as Obie sarcastically points it out:
“Now take it like a man and shake it off. Damn
And quit tellin all these magazines your plans
How you gone slap up my mans, you’re ficticious
Nigga, we send Stan to come murder your bitches…”

‘ Shit Hits The Fan ‘ is a track that is definitly worth listening to.
Shit Hits the Fan Lyrics
[Dr. Dre]
Yeah
Yo, let’s bring it
[Chorus – Eminem]
What you gonna do when shit hits the fan
Are you gonna stand and fight like a man?
Will you be as hard as you say you are?
Or you gonna run and go get your bodyguard?
I said What you gonna do when shit hits the fan?
Are you gonna stand and fight like a man?
And show us you’re as hard as you say you are?
Or you gonna run and go get your bodyguard?
[Verse 1 – Dr. Dre]
Niggaz is so gangsta, Niggaz is thugs
It’s best to be business with me than against me
Niggaz get behind mics and ain’t even MC’s
Niggaz get on MTV just to diss me
This shit don’t even piss me off
I’m laughin all the way to the bank
Watchin the satellite from a Bentley
You niggaz don’t even got a car
You’re so far under my radar
I don’t even know who the fuck you are
To tell you to suck my dick while I’m pissin
I don’t even listen to your shit to know who the fuck I’m dissin
The media just feeds into these feuds
Tryin to add fuel to the fire. This little nigga, Ja Rule
Talking bout he’s gonna slap me. Nigga please
You gotta jump and swing up to hit me in the knees
I laugh at these magazines when they interview em
All they doin is making fake threats to us through em
And pussy you’re not Pac, I knew em
Pac was a real nigga, you just a fuckin insult to em
It’s too bad we had to fallout before he passes
If he could see this shit now, he’d be whoopin your ass
You’re talkin to a pioneer who engineered this shit for 19 years
Who you got in your ear? I don’t even gotta say it, the fans know
Quit tryin to be tough, nigga, you look like a asshole
[Chorus – Eminem]
[Verse 2 – Obie Trice]
They say why don’t we increase the peace
The only peace increased is that which deletes your peeps
Cuz niggaz run mouths but they don’t run streets
Till that 4 5 will cease the speech
Yeah it’s a shame how the beef’ll creep
Could’ve reached the peep, now you’re left with a horrible leak
I’m tryin to be as bleak with my speech as possible
Just in case a nigga tryin to throw me an obstacle
Nigga, I’m not boxin you, I’m hospitable
I put you in a hospital, that’s how I get at you
Let the doc op on you, he don’t rid you?
You back on the streets? I send another hit at you
This is not a hypocritical issue
I will critical condition your tissue
Give a fuck if all ten of them wit you
I throw an extra ten of them missiles
Turn gangstas into gentlemen vicko
And ever since Eminem dissed you
I swear I see the women and bitch in you
All this bickering back and forth over who signs who
Curtis, pull your skirt up, nigga, you got murdered
Now take it like a man and shake it off. Damn
And quit tellin all these magazines your plans
How you gone slap up my mans, you’re ficticious
Nigga, we send Stan to come murder your bitches
[Chorus – Eminem]
Hahahahahaha
Yeah, yeah
Go out behind all the gangstas you want, nigga
Matter fact, go get every gangsta from every hood
In the United States of America to back you, nigga
Ain’t nobody ridin wit you
You can’t see that?
Fell off, nigga
Hahahahahaha
Damn, damn
Shady slash Aftermath, motherfucker
2003 to infinite (Yeahah)
