Never Enough clearly targets the media. It is a clever Eminem- Nate Dogg-50 Cent collaboration.
Because Eminem is always speaking his mind, he often gets so much negative feedback from the press. How many times has he been misinterpreted, misunderstood, misquoted?
As Eminem expresses it so well, he sometimes has so much to say that the words just flow out of his mouth rapidly. He sometimes even needs people like Dr Dre to slow him down:
‘ There’s not much you could do or say to phase me
People think I’m a little bit crazy
I get it from all angles, even occasionally Doc Dre-zie’ll
Have to step in every once in a while to save me
To make me stop and think about it ‘fore I just say things’ ‘It is also a matter of fact that Eminem’s lyrics need a further examination if you want to get his many and subtle rhymes:
‘ Sometimes the average listener rewinds and plays me twenty times
cuz I say so many rhymes, it may seem like I’m goin too fast cuz my mind is racing ‘ ‘
Even some fans don’t always get Eminem. To get each inch of him, you need to spend time focusing on his words and music. I admit that even the few songs of Eminem’s Encore that I didn’t like in the beginning are growing on me: sometimes, you missed a line or a word combination or simply the artist’s intention’sometimes, you also need to be in a specific mood to get one of Eminem’s songs. That’s exactly what happened to me yesterday with the song Puke. I was in the mood of full disgust. Not for the same reasons as Eminem, but it helped me to understand the song better and my mood alteration made me feel close to Eminem’s feelings. ‘ Feeling bad’total disgust of everything and everybody’just wanna puke ‘. Then I took time to listen to the song a second time and it enlightened me on the beauty of some rhymes I hadn’t even noticed in the beginning.
Eminem has so much to tell and he often gets so much criticized for his sincerity. People shouldn’t forget that he is also the product of his environment and the fertility of his rhymes can be explained by his many and often rough experiences of the past while he was living across 8 Mile.
All those difficult experiences that he went through made him become the person he is:
‘ I’m thankful for the talent in which God gave me
And I’m thankful for the environment that he placed me
Believe it or not, I thank my mom for how she raised me
In the neighborhood daily, they jumped and chased me
It only made me what I am today, see.. ‘
Love him or loathe him, let Eminem be who he is. Let him say what he has to say.
Eminem a has a message for many cowards who keep hating him:
‘ Regardless of what anybody believes who hates me

Tryna strip me of my credibility and make me look fake, G
You’re only gonna be in for a rude awakening

In fact many people prompt to judge him without even knowing his story nor the whole context in which he grew up. I myself have read so many negative critics from people who -obviously- did not even know very much about hip hop nor about Eminem himself.
Eminem is like a soldier who never stops battling against emcees, against magazines that won’t leave him alone:

50 Cent goes on with an offensive verse. Like a winner, he takes his enemies over with his ‘ untouchable flow ‘:

Never Enough is a real hot song on Encore. Unfortunately, it is a little bit short. I was looking for a little bit more of those hot rhymes. Don’t miss track 3 on the album, it is really worth your attention.

EMINEM was devastated last night after the uncle who he regarded as his dad committed suicide:
Todd Nelson shot himself in the head as he sat in his car. He had become depressed over a sheriff’s rottweiler which was allegedly terrorising his family.
The 42-year-old helped raise Eminem, whose real father walked out when the rapper was a baby.
It is the second close relative the 32-year-old controversial star – real name Marshall Mathers III – has lost to suicide.
His other uncle, Ronnie, killed himself after being dumped by his girlfriend.
A family friend said: “This news has hit Marshall hard. It will bring back all the memories of losing Ronnie.
“To lose two uncles at such a young age is terribly sad, especially as his father has never been around. The fact they both committed suicide is so tragic.”
Eminem’s granny, Betty Kresin, said the family was “completely devastated”. She added: “I’m so heart-broken, I don’t know if I can handle this as well. He’ll be buried next to my Ronnie.
“Todd had been very upset about a rottweiler owned by a local sheriff who was causing problems for his family.
“The dog scared his girlfriend’s son and scratched his car.
“But when he complained to police, they wouldn’t do anything about it.
“He shot himself in his car in his own backyard. My grandson, Todd junior, found his body. He thought his dad was asleep but he was dead.
“He called me and then Marshall and the rest of the family.”
Betty said her daughter, Debbie, Eminem’s mum, rang the star to tell him they are to bring Todd’s body home to St Joseph, Missouri, following his death in Michigan.
It is the latest family tragedy to strike Eminem.
His ex-wife, Kim, tried to kill herself four years ago. And mum Debbie, 48, who he once called a slut in a song, is recovering from breast cancer.
His tormented family life has inspired many of his songs. He recently fell out with Todd over his uncle’s plans to sell the family home. But when he was younger, he idolised Todd.
In the past, his uncle said Eminem had been “a shy kid with few friends”.
He added: “Marshall grew up believing he was different to everyone else. It was something instilled in him from an early age by Debbie, me and his grandmother.
“Marshall was a happy kid. He was good at entertaining himself and he laughed a lot.
“I remember one time I walked into his room and saw all these posters of black superstars on his walls. Basketball stars, baseball players, rappers. He would spend hours drawing groups such as Public Enemy and NWA. Even as a kid, he idolised Dr Dre.
“At the time I thought he was going through some kind of identity crisis. But I guess he just knew from an early age.
“Everything Marshall has achieved professionally is wonderful. I couldn’t be more proud of him.”

Mosh is a meaningful and powerful song. Listening to it increased the huge respect I already have for Eminem.
« Mosh » refers to a slam dance as a huge protest against Bush. The song starts solemnly with a couple of kids (including little Hailie) pledging allegiance to the American flag.
A few seconds later, Shady is addressing to the crowd as the powerful personality he actually is with the terrific background of the 9/11 th attacks of the World Trade center.
Marshall’s voice imposes respect from his audience: you gotta listen and be ready to start this collective slam dance as a huge form of protest against Bush.
The first verse is a fist to punch Bush’s face. The same man who once grew up in a fatherless home and who used to be constantly broke has become an amazing entertainer, a responsible father and an astute entrepreneur. Those words are huge encouragement for single parenting homes who are so often underprivileged in one of the richest countries of the world. Eminem is a living example that you can make it, no matter where you come from.
Marshall is a self made man: his overwhelming success and his fortune have increased his power within a few years: when Eminem raises his voice, you can be sure that he will be heard. Often being criticized for his leftist opinion, Marshall doesn’t fear the Bush administration. He is ready to show his opposition to a government that fully disgusts him.
Words from Eminem’s mouth have the power to open some bricks in the wall of incomprehension left by the American government and to give people some hope for a brighter future (without Bush, of course).
Shady is like the leader of a huge movement that rallies 10 million people of different nations, ages, backgrounds and races. Are you ready to mosh pit?
Come on, follow him and trust him in his rightful rebellious mission. He knows how to guide you with sincerity and will let you see the end of the tunnel, as he expresses it very well:

Marshall is calling for unity. His song is here to open your consciences and make you realize how much America needs to get rid of Bush in order to be ready for a new start.
Enough civilian victims from a worthless Iraqi war on both sides. Enough blood has been spilled for nothing on both sides.
The words of Mosh are much more than a huge wake up call in front of blind and stubborn American citizens who keep supporting Bush despite his hypocrisy.
I would also like to raise my own voice along with Eminem’s in reaction to some statements like those coming from some Americans: « Bush’s election is only an American matter. The rest of the world shouldn’t care about it. »
What? The rest of the world shouldn’t care about it?
People coming up with such stupid statements have really no idea about geopolitics. Everybody should be aware of the consequences of Bush’s actions on the world’s nations destiny. Fatal errors can lead to a domino effect in no time.
Not only had the drama of September the 11th tragical consequences for America, but it also weakened Europe economically and increased unemployment.
Some of you may not have noticed it, but Mosh also sounds prophetic. Through a « monster » like Ossama Ben Laden, God is trying to send us a message: Americans are responsible of the situation. They allowed Bush to take power and to commerce with Ossama which lead to the tragically situation we already now.
It is high time for anybody, no matter where we come from to stand up and to fight for our rights. It is more than a duty for American citizens to vote against the worst American president in history and it is very important for people from other countries to show their opposition even in words. We have the power, the obligation and the duty to refuse a president who endangers the whole world for his own selfish commercial interest.

No need to feel guilty when you don’t want to lose your young life in a bloody war in order to satisfy a dictator’s madness.
Eminem’s last lines from the third verse are strong:

They show the will of an engaged rapper to strenghten our own voice in this world. Marshall tells us to fight and he em-powers us through his insightful speech. We have no reason to feel week and to accept to be the prisoner of Bush’s psychological manipulations.
Mosh has been written for America and the world’s sake. It offers us a new definition of American patriotism and makes people understand that it is not necessary be a victim of Bush’s military policy to be a good citizen.
Eminem is taking power against Bush and his words will tear the current Mr President in people’s mind like the teeth of an alligator.

Sheridan Works for 50 Cent
In America helmer teams with rap artist:
October 18, 2004 – News of a somewhat unlikely collaboration comes via today’s Hollywood Reporter… It seems that Irish director Jim Sheridan, helmer of such high-brow fare as In America, The Boxer, My Left Foot and In the Name of the Father, is teaming up with rapper 50 Cent on the forthcoming gangster flick Locked and Loaded.
The trade adds that the Paramount Pictures/MTV Films project is a tale of redemption that centers around an orphaned kid (played by 50 Cent, a.k.a. Curtis Jackson) who turns away from crime and launches a successful musical career.
The script is being penned by Terence Winter, a writer on The Sopranos.
Producers include rap stars Eminem and Dr. Dre.

« So sue me… ». Eminem’s statement seems to be taken very literally by some people. Not only his mom and his ex wife, but also people from the music industry like the French pianist Jacques Loussier have intended to take Marshall Mathers to Court. It seems like Eminem’s name and fortune is an easy way to get some rapid publicity and a big maggot at the same time in many people’s mind. If it wasn’t the case, Eminem wouldn’t have collected so many lawsuits in a couple of years.

Usually Eminem haters piss me off. I hate reading their comments. In Chuck DiMaria’s case, it is a little bit different. He even managed to make me smile as I happened to cross his website where I got to read his article entitled «’ Why I hate Eminem‘ »:
Chuck DiMaria is not what I could call a real Eminem hater. The points he expresses are full of humor and sarcasms and barely hide his admiration for the talented rapper.
His first statement reveal how much he «’ envies’ » Eminem:
« I hate Eminem.
You know why? Because he gets to say whatever he wants and laughs all the way to the bank doing it.
Oh, that makes me so mad. I hate that guy!
I wish I could do that, too. »
Eminem has actually a huge power on the media. When he says something, he manages to catch people’s attention. Within a few years, Eminem has become an important personality in the world of hip hop. He can say nearly whatever he wants, his voice will be heard. For sure.
Another of his statements captured my attention:
« But Eminem is in the rather enviable position of being able to say whatever he wants in exactly the way he wants and is getting away with it.
And making a profit.
And, profit margin aside, there is a lot to be said for Em-Squared to be able to do this. It helps to keep certain people in line. »
Yea, that’s absolutely right. Eminem is very clever: he uses his high power to say what he has to say and he knows how to make a profit out of it.
Eminem is an intelligent businessman. What is often considered as demeaning from Eminem (his parodies for instance) also helps to make publicity of his rivals.
People haven’t heard about MC Hammer for a long time, for instance. «’ Just Lose It’ »’ also appears to be a big publicity stunt. For MC Hammer, Madonna and, of course the so offended MiJack.
Eminem creates a lot of controversy around him and he is conscious of it. That is also what makes him so special in the hip hop scene.
The effect created by a controversial video like «’ Just Lose It’ » will make both category of listeners (haters and lovers) focus on his stuff. Even offended Michael Jackson fans will help to sell Eminem’s new single…and make people focus on Eminem and Michael Jackson. Chuck DiMaria understood it very well:
« I’ll give you a recent example of just what I’m talking about here: While most others in the media and the entertainment community are rallying behind that pedophile – oh, excuse, alleged pedophile – Michael Jackson, Eminem gets to tell it like it is.
He puts out a video lambasting this piece of garbage – oh, excuse me, alleged piece of garbage – and dear old MJ actually got BET to pull the video.
Which, of course, is absolutely wonderful news to Eminem because it gives him even more publicity and makes him even more money and causes even more people to see that video.

The Source’s CEO Benzino has co-signed BET’s decision to pull the latest Eminem’s video “Just Lose It” from rotation:
The first single and video from Eminem’s upcoming album, Encore, pokes fun of Michael Jackson. In one scene, Eminem wears Jackson’s trademark red leather jacket with kids bouncing around on a bed and raps: “Come here little kiddie, on my lap, guess who’s back with a brand new rap. And I don’t mean rap as in a case of child molestation.”
“For too long influential people in the hip-hop community have stood by Eminem while he has made a mockery of the culture that inspires and motivates our young people to achieve and be proud of their black heritage,” said Benzino. “I am proud of both Robert Johnson of BET for pulling the video, and for comedian Steve Harvey for urging MTV and VH1 to do the same. We as the leaders in the Hip-Hop community and music industry need to step up and realize that Eminem’s lyrics and actions are tearing down the very culture that people like Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and Public Enemy have built from the ground up. I urge all members of hip-hop to come out and support Jackson, one of the most important, cultural icons of our time. No one should stand behind this mockery and only by supporting the airplay of “Just Lose It” are we giving Eminem a way out.”The Source is demanding that the song “Just Lose It” be pulled from Eminem’s upcoming album and to apologize publicly to Michael Jackson.
