As Summer holidays are approaching, I’d like to share some original and interesting walks through the French Capital with you. You might be keen on choosing Paris as your touristic destination.
I’ve always loved Paris. When I get the chance to travel there, I have a few areas of preference (not everybody might agree with my choice, but well…)
I once had a quite stressful day in Paris and really needed to break from any negative thought…so I followed my intuition, took the Metro and descended at Sentier.
Sentier is located in the 2nd area of Paris. It is an interesting luxury shopping area. However, the most interesting oasis of peace I found here is a hidden street, that resembles quite a little paradise. It is called rue Montorgueil. There you will find beautiful fruit and vegetables, many traditional bakers, cheese, fish, all excellent quality produce.

I could also mention a wide range of Cafes, but my favorite of all is certainly Planet Sushi, a very modern Japanese styled Cafe, with a soul-jazz musical atmosphere and very friendly waiters/ waitresses.

Rue Montorgueil is truly a haven of peace and if you’re lucky, you might find some musicians playing the guitar or saxophone in the middle of the street.
Although some people might priviledge some more comfortable Parisian areas, I’m also very fond of the popular ones like Barbes. (18th area)
“Besbar” like many of its inhabitants affectionate to call it, is a very interesting shopping area, if you’re looking for cheap mobi phones or cheap clothes. There you will also find the notorious Tati shop.
But what I like most is the mixity of population. Another interesting area, very close to Barbes is Chateau Rouge (18th area). Chateau Rouge is a black ghetto in the middle of the Capital. In this very lively and animated area, you will find loads of African products and an African market too.
If you like long boulevard walks, you definitely gotta visit Montparnasse (14th area). This very pleasant area also has some nice parks that are worth your visit.
I could mention a lot of other places, but the ones I mentioned above are definitely my favorites. Check them out when you get the chance!

Today (April 7th) people in Compton, California are celebrating the memory of Eric “Eazy-E” Wright. The former major of Compton, Omar Bradley, declared April 7th to be “Eazy-E” day stating “Eric made Compton famous not just in California, but all over the world,” at Eazy’s funeral, continuing “I recognize Eazy as a young man who grew up in the streets of Compton–and brothers and sisters, we know it’s not ‘easy’ growing up in Compton.”
Eazy, known for founding Ruthless Records which released albums by rap groups like N.W.A., The D.O.C., Above The Law, Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony and others. Jerry Heller who co-founded the label with Eazy said “March 26, 1995 was the saddest day in the history of rap music,” continuing “Not a day goes by that Gayle [Heller] and I don’t think about my long time friend and business associate with the fondest remembrances. He was an incredible visionary, and truly ‘the little big man.’ R.I.P my brother.”
I got it from the following wonderful entirely Derty Harry dedicated website.
Unfortunately, it seems that this website has been somehow partially erased from the net, since the homepage is not available any more.
April, the 11th, 2006, the day that tragically changed the face of Detroit hip hop
I can’t help it, as we are heading towards April, to think about the tragic day that left a whole community orphan:(
Deshaun Holton was a brilliant artist, yet he remained humble and down to earth. He was one of the most dedicated emcees on the Detroit hip hop scene.
His very prolific work on the Detroit scene testifies his love for his hometown and his sincere dedication towards hip hop.
It’s been 2 years, already and it seems as if it was yesterday.
As time goes by, I would like to join all the people who shared and still share the same passion for his music and honor Big Proof’s memory.

Because of a stupid argument, a talented emcee had to lose his life…I still believe that Deshaun Holton died for nothing. It is quite obvious that a lot of envy and jealousy were involved in the tragic event.
However, even if the man has left us for a better place, his music is meant to say with us all for ever.
A few weeks ago, I have talked to Proof’s former promotions director, also known as Rude of IF.
I asked him about the release date of the Time A Tell CD.
As far as he knows, there is no precise release date available for the moment.
DJ Jewels, who is responsible of the Time A Tell project, would like to work hard on it before he announces any release date, in order to honor Proof’s last work as it really deserves it.
As soon as I will know, you will be the firsts to know about it, that’s my promise.
Proof’s spirit will live on with us, so let’s rejoice and keep honoring our hip hop brother’s memory, as his music floods into our ears.
Gone, but never forgotten! Big Proof For Ever!
To keep up the spirit, I added a rare and funny Proof pic to this article…enjoy:)

After appearing on several tracks on Shady Records’ mixtape/album The Re-Up over a year ago, Bobby Creek has been seldom heard from. Recently, the Atlanta native with HipHopDX at the A3C festival to discuss his current situation at Shady Records:
“Everything’s beautiful, man. Em’s working on his next project, and everybody’s getting’ geared up for that. So everything’s beautiful.” Creek continued, “I’ll say this…everybody over at that label takes music seriously. They’re perfectionists, and they understand that first impressions are everything. If our projects take a little longer than people would like, just know that we’re making impactful [sic] music so we can make the impression we need to make. The music is going to be worth it for the fans – the wait will be worth it.”
The rapper spoke on his upcoming projects as well. “I’m working on A Brilliant Mistake, Em is working on his LP, and we’re having talks about possibly doing a ‘Re-Up 2.’ My mixtape series Anthem 2 Da Streetz…volume 3 [is] coming out soon, sooner than everything else. Shady Records, we got a lot comin’. I can’t speak on everything because I don’t want to spoil the movie for ya’ll – this is a motion picture. There’s a lot to look forward to. D12, they’re working. Obie [Trice], he’s working. We’re all working.” As for a release date for his album, Creek offered only that the label is “pushing for a…fall release.”
Finally, Bobby Creek addressed rumors about label head Eminem’s supposed massive weight gain. “[There] must be two [Eminems], because the Em I just saw is in perfectly good shape. [I] saw him recently playing a pickup basketball game, so I don’t know much about the 250-pound Em; I missed that, I didn’t see that guy. No truth to those rumors whatsoever.”
“He’s focused, basically,” said Creek of Eminem. “He understands he’s been away for a while, and that he’s got to come back that much harder. He’s focused – 110 percent. Y’all should expect that; he’s been away for a while, and he’s got a statement to make.”

My two cents to the subject: this doesn’t wonder me in the least! If you think I am just talking nonsense, please read my “backstage” experience back in 2004…I had some documents to hand out to the D12 members. Despite my valid backstage pass, the manager and co would only let teenage girls in. Please stop dreaming…those people are really not who you think they are!
The manager of EMINEM’s offshoot group D12 has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting two teenage girls.
Jeremy Nathaniel Geffen is expected to be arraigned on Monday (17Mar08) on felony charges.
Los Angeles police claim the alleged assaults took place at Hollywood parties and at Geffen’s home, with one of the 16-year-old girls stating she was assaulted in December 2006 and again a month later (Jan07).
Geffen’s attorney, Danny Davis, tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper that he “strongly respects” his client’s “presumption of innocence.”
Hailing from Santana, California, Siccness comes up with the spirit of an outlaw depicting the harsh ghetto reality that prevails in California.
Fuck The Cops is built on a siren background combined with catchy drum beats and keyboard sounds. With his sharp, well built words, Siccness stabs where it really hurts. Revealing a corrupt police with a racial discriminatory policy, Siccness raises an angry fist against a government from which originated an uncontrollable hood violence.
On a rhythmic instrumental background, interrupted by gunshots, Siccness spits his Sicc Venom. The gritty, dark atmopshere of the song symbolizes an army of hood soldiers marching on.
Hold No Punches totally reveals an excellent orator in Siccness. The artist appears as the leader of a movement that serves its dishes raw. A violin background contrasts with the dark piano/ keyboard sounds. Lyrically Siccness is taking over, flooding over with a mad flow delivery.
I Don’t Really Give A Fuck: like a menacing ouragan breaking out in the background, a dark, hardcore bass instrumental background totally matches with the skilled emcee’s lyrics.
His words spread like powerful bullets, reaching each target with determination.
Loud xylophone notes introduce Straight Hustling. Again Siccness is taking over lyrically and instrumentally. The rhythmic, well handled instrumental part of the song needs to be underlined in any case.
The Realist takes you straight into Siccness’ rude world in which lyrics do matter to the fullest. Tuba, violins, gunshots, xylophone, keyboards, drum beats, each element creates a running atmosphere during which nobody could beat the artist’s ill cypher.
If you take hip hop seriously, check out Siccness here.
